    Wide Ski Skins

Hey Stewart, many years ago I got a pair of first generation Flexi Skis from Simmons for a Skandic SWT. In 2008 when I got my VK Pro, I called them back and they sent me a specific mount for my Gen I Flexi Skis. In 2009 when I wanted to upgrade to their wide body Gen II Flexi Skis they said...

    Adding an additional radiator

Hey Swixblue, Like Wayne I also had the second radiator installed by the dealer. I use my VK Pro exclusively for grooming (just read the Grooming in Vermont thread some night when you are bored) and I went through many attempts to get my overheating problems under control. They finally were...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Welcome again everyone for another snow season Haven't been on the forum for a while. On December 1st we had a bad wind storm - 40 mph winds with 60 mph gusts for 6 hours straight. I lost about 300 trees across our XC trail network, so all I've been doing the last two weeks is chainsaw work...

    Wide Ski Skins

Hey Stewart, Just call Simmons and get the specific mount for the VK Pro. They sell all kinds of mounts for the particular sleds.

Very impressive Teton RB, Looks like a great place for XC trails. Hopefully you spend as much time skiing on the trails as you do grooming.

    Sub Rad Kit

Hey WayneB, I have been grooming with a VK Pro for three years now and once I got the second radiator my overheating problems were finally under control. When you say "I had the dealer install the sub-rad kit", I assume you mean the second radiator. The trick under use is to...

Winter is starting here in Vermont Hope everyone is starting to get the temperatures they need. We've had a couple of 2" snows. Not enough to get out there yet, but we are close. I usually wait until I have about 6" on the ground to cover some of my obstacles (the rocks and stumps I couldn't...

Grooming DVDs Hey Ricardo, I asked last year about your 4 grooming related DVDs. Are they all done now and available for purchase? And yes would love to hear about your Bearcat experiences.

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Hey Eric, If you are looking at Ski-Doo, maybe try out the new Skandic WT when they are available. They are moving the WT to the Rev-XU platform, same as the Expedition. It will have a new 4 stroke engine, not as big as the 1200 on the Expedition, but the price will probably be a couple...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Season is ending Well another town meeting day has passed in Vermont. We all get together across the State and debate our various town issues and budgets. At the end of the day we feel good that we were able to raise our concerns about various topics, but feel bad that our taxes are only...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Hi Teton RB, Any chance your problem was related to this thread posted by Joner last year? - http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=65592

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Teton RB, Thanks for reminding me why I do this. I have to get back to more conversations on the trail while I'm grooming and I bump into skiers. I used to do this all the time when I used a 2 stroke Skandic SWT simply because it was so loud that I got into the habit of always shutting it...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Hey VKbcnorth, Your comment makes sense. I'm going to just have to limit my "good groomer" conversations to a couple of minutes. Over lunch time I will be watching for this and probably putting it up on my storage ramp. But if it's more related to all the slush that comes off the...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

Yes the my scratchers do a good job and I don't even have them mounted in an optimal position. Look back on page 14 of this thread, about 2/3rd of the way down. I have two interesting pictures - showing one side of the VK where I didn't have a scratcher (because it fell off), and the other...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

I have an interesting new symptom that is causing me problems. After I have been out grooming for a couple of hours, I can tend to stop and turn off the VK while I'm talking to skiers out on the trails. A couple of times this year now I have stopped for about 20 minutes, and when I started...

    Bearcat 570

Waynes, Have you thought about putting tracks on your Sportsman ATV. I noticed on your profile that you have an 09 500. Does it have EPS? With a 500 this should be enough to power.

Thanks for the pointer VKNorth. I will NOT be filling my tank past 3/4 anymore. Glad it wasn't particular to my unit, another design issue for Yamaha.

Gas Smell near full tank I noticed a gas smell today after I put almost a full tank of gas in. I remember this last year, but forgot to mention it. The smell went away once it got down to about 3/4. Anyone else notice the gas smell carrying a full tank?

    Won't start in cold

Like Joner, I add the same gas line antifreeze in every can of gas that I put in the VK Pro. I have never had a problem since.
