I too was very surprised to hear it start up in those temps but it has always started, a fully charged battery and 0W40 fully synthetic oil plus turn it over 4 times for 5 second intervals and it roars to life. I love this sled. I will buy a heater this winter because I hate causing any damage...

I lived in Inuvik for 4 years and have been to Tuk when test driving Doo's in mid 90's. You would be lucky to get a glimpse of twilight this time of year. They have good powder and no trail congestion ever. The ice roads are very cool. Riding above 60N rules. :Rockon:

Yeah LB, no amount of shoveling can keep it clear of snow so I often just give up. Our drifts get really big because of predominantly north winds in winter up to 160 kph. The only downside is it's -43C with windchill today and sunset is at 13:43. Oh well, it's all worth it when spring arrives...

Overheated twice but I rode for 5 hours at only -5C at slow and constant speeds on hard packed ice with very little loose snow coverage. I totally expected it considering it's a high revving 4 cylinder with minimal ventilation. It required an hour of cooling before the light would remain off. I...

Our winter starts in about November and ends in early July, or when the icebreaker comes in to Frobisher Bay. Thanks, The picture above the window is the view out my living room window where I park my sled. We always get drifted in bad in this part of town. I'm just waiting for some guy to come crashing through my living room on a sled because there is a trail right near where my machine is parked. :lol:

Thanks, killer house you've got there. I just bought a small apartment type condo and it really sucks not having a garage for my toys. My next project will be building a house with a two truck garage.
