Hey guys I went for my first ride of the season this year up in Jackman ME. There was an 05 MachZ 1000 me on my 03 RX1 an 05 RX1 a 03 REV600 a 05 Rev 500 and a 02 (i think) SRX?Viper. Well of course it wasnt long into the day that I had to roll up along side the MachZ and mess around. I have Overdrive clutch kit and Carb springs gutted airbox and jets. The rest of the machines are all stock. The Mach didnt even have studs yet. He also was waiting on 4 hours for his burn in chip to give him full power. By the time his 4 hours where up we where all ready to run. First I ran the Mach pretty even to about 80 MPH when the &*%@#*& waived at me and started walking away. Then he ran the 05. The 05 hooked up better and pulled him from the start only to be passed again about 80. I ran the 05 RX1 and he could hook up like there is no tomorrow he wasnt broke in yet so no high speed stuff up to about 100 or so. I was catching him by 80 but couldnt get passed him before we slowed. Man that new suspension and track hook up. All in all the Mach is a mean machine I tried it out pulls like a bear from 80 up I will like to see what the 05 RX1 will do when broke in. Oh yah the guy on the Mach 265 Lbs me about 265 (hey I am 6 foot 4 LOL) and theguy on the 05 RX probably 225 I figure the mach has me by 55 Lbs right off the start cause my sled is heavier neither one of us was hooking up very good (him no studs me no weight transfer) we where even off the line all the way to 80 side by side then he pulled me. If I put my other buddy on my sled I bet it would be closer because of the weight difference. All in all the Mach was fast but not as bad as I had read I thought I wold get beat by 10 sled lengths. We will have to see on the lake after the ice gets alittle thicker but I have a sneaky suspision I will get my a$$ handed to me on top end.

race24x,

How were the trails up in Jackman???

Was intending to go up Tuesday, however with the rain forcast for Thursday I might not go.

If you go go North or North east. I got the crap kicked out of me for about 4 hours or so headed to Rockwood and over that way we where on nice trails shold have gone more north. Please no rain I want some snow

24x,

My friends have 1.325 studs in the .9" track on their Machs. You won't ever holeshot them, or see anything but the Mach tail lights.

How did you like riding it. I wouldn't be happy riding one for any distance. It wasn't comfortable for me, and the vibration at low rpms was annoying. But WOT, hang on. I'll bet it would take a turbo a while to catch them.

I'll bet it would take a turbo a while to catch them.

I don't think so. AS a Matter of fact BlueByYou2000 Ran a mach this weekend with his turbo and it wasn't even close. Think about it. The mach is about 25 more hp then a stock RX-1. the Turbo is miniumly 25 more then a Mach. So if a mach is 5 sleds faster then a stock rx-1 in 1200 feet then a turbo will be 5 sleds faster tehn a mach in the same distance. I'm betting more then that.

The funny thing is a lot of guys on this board don't know what a quick sled is. From what I'm reading about the mach it's running like it should. it's 170hp sled and the Rx-1 is 145. I think it should beat it!!!

But to compair the Mach to a Turbo Rx-1 your kidding yourself!!!!!

"I'll bet it would take a turbo a while to catch them." I'm just guessing here but I'm assuming that a 300+HP beast of a sled with a 1.5 x 136 track and lots of studs would seriously haul #$%&* and leave any stock two stroker in it's snow dust even off the holeshot. No offense intended but 300+Hp is a lot of horsepower, I wouldn't even fully open it up for extended periods. I don't know if the extra weight would really be that much of an issue when we are talking about a difference of 130+ HP.
:4STroke:

jtssrx: From my experience you are right on for a stock RX1, a stock Z and a turbo RX1. I also feel that the turbo is limited far more buy traction than by power. On true hard packed the turbo will be much faster than the other two it never runs out of legs. :ORC I think the track will blow first!!

Myabe with the extra track and studs it will go better or maybe my buddy got a slow one. From all the hype honestly I expected more we where dead even to 80 Mph on my 03 granted I have clutching and carb springs but 55 pounds and 25 more HP I expected more out of them If I had a Turbo and I didnt woop some #*$&@ I would burn it right then and there. A Hayabusa motorcycle makes over 500 Hp at the rear wheel I have heard of 400 HP turbo RX's I would think some head work cam timing ECP kit and clutching you could beat one

RX1 Yooper: I don't own a turbo any more. However I will be there with my RX-1 with a Holtman NOS system. If you want bring your Buddys and there Mach's. We'll have a couple turbo sleds too. I'm not concerned in the least about them.

Hey 24x if you want to run on the lake, the north end of Maranacook is safe 6"+ and torsey pond is 8" of ice. If the rain dosnt screw us up too bad I wll be running on the lake this weekend.

We got 7" here in north centeral Maine, but with the rain and warm weather coming, I think it will be gone by the week-end! Sound's like the new Mach's are fast, but I really thought they would be ALOT faster then it seem's their turning out to be.
