With his clutching on both clutches it is an awesome setup, my sled was totally stock before the Turbo install so I didn't really notice a difference in loose snow, with that track and clutching it hooks up and goes!!! Allen said with the low gearing it tops out 96-98 mph. The motor and turbo...
The secondary has been machined for the 8DN Belt, It's the MPI Turbo, It it also Ulmer's Clutching, Allen did the actual install for me and dialing everything in. I am also running the light weight MPI silencer.
I have the same sled with the Trail Turbo and I really like the Low Gear Power from Corner to Corner. I don't mind that it only tops out at 94 mph. Nobody beats me out of the hole or to 90 mph!! Plus not being able to go 100+ mph keeps me a little bit more out of trouble!
After riding my trail turbo last year, I definitely need more boost!!! Allen installed my Turbo last year, I should have done the intercooler, fuel pump, shim and studs then!! I'm pretty sure I am going to do it!
I had Allen Ulmer install mine with a little help from myself. We started at 8 a.m. and after machining the secondary for the 8DN, changing weights and spring, and testing, my sled was back on the trailer at 3:30 p.m. Install cost was $1k. Well worth it. He made some changes to the MPI trail...
I have the Light Weight Loud muffler on my '15 RTX LE Turbo and rode in Michigan and Wisconsin with no problems with law enforcement. It's really not that loud but definitely has a nice sound.
Congrats!! Who are you having do the install? If you can, have Ulmer Racing do your clutches (machining secondary for running 8DN belt), Allen helped develop the Turbo Kit for the Vipers. He knows them inside and out.
I got the same letter last year and decided to go with the Turbo. I am 1000% glad I did. The sled was mildly fun stock, but after Turbo installed it makes me smile ear to ear every time I ride it. This is a MUST, IMO. You will not be disappointed.
I just spoke to corporate Yamaha regarding my warranty. After opting for the Turbo I did lose 2 years of my warranty. I inquired about the additional 2 years I had originally purchased to make it a 5 year. They had no record of it. I'm guessing when I enrolled for the Turbo the extra $200 I...
I have a thought on why my dealership told me about losing the 2 years, because I didn't have a Yamaha Dealership install my Turbo. I had Allen Ulmer install it. Or does that not matter?
I did the SPS with my RTX LE last year and my dealership told me I had to give up 2 years of the 3 year warranty they give to the SPS guy's for the price of $2200 for the Turbo. When I SPS my sled I spent an extra $200 to extend my 3 years to 5. My dealership said I could purchase more years...
