Not to beat a dead horse, but another stud question: Redtip powerstuds 1.40 inch studs actually measure 1.72 total height. This is from the bottom of the base to the tip of the stud point. With that in mind, the track thickness is .25 and the lug is 1.25, am I correct in figuring the...

I was told that there was enough clearance with the standard tunnel protectors to use 1.4" studs. Is this correct? How do you tell being that Yamaha discourages studding (yet they sell them with protectors installed)? thanks, HH
