Doesn't the 03 have cast iron cylinders? hopefully!.
I've just been swapping the plugs around and it still leaves the #2 plug wet. the only new plugs in the garage have permanent caps on them.
Ok, for tomorrow, what is the normal compression lbs. In case they are all equal. Of course...
going to buy an adapter for the gauge tomorrow, it has compression based on holding the palm of my hand over the hole, but the that one plug is still wet running it in the garage. So does anyone think a fouled plug could cause this? Or are we pulling the motor tomorrow?
stock motor, gasket...
ok, last week running around with my buddies just built 2003 rx1 rear mount turbo. runs fine around 7 lbs. then the next day we turn the boost up to 16lbs and on the 3rd 1000ft run it spews engine oil out the engine vent tube all over the clutches etc. We bring it back to the garage and clean it...
no black stuff and the sled never overheated at 12lbs. turned the boost up last winter to 15 and it would do it after 3rd run or so, sometimes.
Doesn't do it at low boost though. I installed an overflow bottle this summer. Probably try it out this week. I've got a new headgasket to try if it...
I've got a stage 2 so i don't know your fuel settings.
When I hit the throttle the boost gauge always reads/goes to my current pully combination of 10.5lbs then stays there till my thumb backs off. In fact, my tach follows the boost gauge almost exactly, 5000rpm is 5lbs boost 8000 is 8 etc...
I have an issue with my rx1 turbo getting hot running high boost. hot enough to fill the overflow bottle with antifreeze and sometime all over my leg.
Back in the two stroke days I always just pulled the thermostat. Anyone pulling thermostats on these boosted 4 strokes or do they get too...
I've had the rx1 turbo since 2003 summer and the supercharged apex since january last season. I love both sleds. The turbo feels alot faster since it has that rubberband throttle coming on boost like it's pissed off at you for squeezing the trigger and trying to throw you off. the MPI is...
did a a couple hundred miles this weekend in cadillac! Supercharger ran great! Only problem after the long summer was my O2 sensor flatlined today. Maybe these bosch units are only good for one season.
I believe it wears the front side looking at my collection of old belt if i'm remembering if i installed the belt readable or not. So i would think that is on the throttle. I would like to get the valve though since i've got piano wire holding my fuel rack to the motor just to keep it from...
Thanks srxspec!
Could I ask a dumb question? I tear up the belts, tops of cogs get lobbed off, probably because of the small sprocket and high rpm. If I switched to say two 26's or two 30's would i still have the same boost as with two 22's.
I see some guys say they have a 24 tooth sprocket on their superchargers. The gates catalog only shows 22, 26, then 30 tooth sprockets. Anyone know where I can get my hands on a 24?
Also, what sheeve is used? model #? they all look so similiar and my local gates dealer is as confused as I...
does anyone know which sprockets (# teeth) combination needed for the Apex stage 2 Mountain Performance supercharger to achieve 10lbs, 14lbs and 17lbs?
I think I have two 22 tooth sprockets to make 10lbs boost.
Also what fuel system modifications are best for the fuel injection system for...
