I'll bet if I looked long enough I'd find it posted in this forum.
I was just looking for feedback from people who have changed skis on there 05' Rage and what kind they felt were best.
I live in western NY I ride normally around 1000 miles of groomed trails here and another 1000 or so...
Does anybody know how thick these toilet shims are? My original question was how thick to go. I Know 1/4" is too thick. I consider myself to be fairly strong and I could hardly steer with them in. I see TAZ107 used 3/16" so I'm hoping 1/8" might be a move in the right direction for me. Also my...
Yeah!! I tried 1/4" rubber myself. Too much. I removed them last night and put some 1/8" rubber in. I'll see how that feels tonight. I've got to do something. My steering is difficult and the front of my carbides always wears first. That makes it even more difficult
I have an 05' Rage. You cannot keep the antifreeze up to the level line. If I add more I'll notice that it's a little low after a hard ride. If I don't add more I always see that there is still some in the reservoir. So long as there is a visible amount in there I wouldn't worry about it!

I remember reading a post where they were talking about putting a shim under the rubber in the rear of the ski spindle in order to take some weight off of the front of the ski's. Seems like I need to do this on my RAGE. Has anybody done this and could you tell me a good thickness to use. Seems...
During my reviews of this site I've come along several posts talking about a Jackshaft update for Rages. I was just wondering if anybody would like to fill me in on the particulars of this if it is true. I have an 05 Rage that I bought new from
a dealer about 300 miles from where I live. He...

As far as just starting the sled once in a while. I"ve heard (and it seems reasonable to me) that just running your sled does not get the exhaust system hot enough to boil off all the water that is produced during the combustion process. You need to be into the power to get that...
I don't use any spray oil on my sleds.
I use an entire can of engine bright on the engine compartment and suspension. After a good soaking I pressure wash the entire sled. I then wait a couple of days for a complete drying. Greasing the suspension is next and very important to push out any...
I know you want to hear that sled run but try to hold off. This is just my opinion, but you need to break that engine in just like your going to ride it. Let it get good and warm and then beat on it!! Running it for 15 minutes at a time in your garage can't be good for seating your rings. Like...
I have an 05' Rage as well. I ride with an 05' Vector rider an 04" rx1 rider who has an M-10 with Ohlins and an Mxz rider with an M-10. All have ridin my sled and all of them say i have the better ride for the money. (an M-10 cost $13-1700). That long track will only cost you $200 more.I just...
I would be looking into seeing if you could get that sled rental paid for as well. Last time my car was in the shop because of an accident the insurance company paid for car rental. What's the differance here? I know with full coverage I pay as much for my three sleds a year as I do for one of...
I'm from New York State. As much as I complain about the "cost of doing business" here, everyone on the trail is required to carry insurance. I don't feel sorry for that kids parents at all. He's already wrecked once and they still didn't get insurance. If it were my kid, he wouldn't have been...
Thanks for your help. I got to my plugs qiute easily. I did notice however that it wasn't too easy to pull the boots out. This is on a year old sled in a 50° garage. I imagine a several year old sled on a 0° trail would be another story. I would recommend to anybody with a 4-stroke to take the...
I might sound like I'm stupid but how do you check the plugs on the 4-strokes? I can't find my manual and don't want to break anything. If I had to guess I would say I disconnect the connector and then just pull that whole assy out and my plugs would be under there. I figure theres a thousand...
Tell your buddy to look into a RAGE. I drive one and love it. I have a friend with an 03' RX1 with an M-10 with Ohlins and he says he wasted his money on the M-10. He thinks(me too) that the Rage rides much better through everything. His wife has a Vector and she likes that but we all agree...
I was reading a Vector -VS- Rage topic and "LOW SLUNG" was saying that it's not a question of will the W-arm break but more like when. I bought a 2005 andRage put 2400 miles on it without any problems so far. I'm just wondering how many people out there feel like "LOW SLUNG" and why. I have...
I own a Rage and would keep it over my friends Vector. She would rather ride her Vector than my Rage. Her husband has an RX-1 with an M-10 w/Ohlins. He would rather ride the Rage because he likes a cushy ride. It 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. If you ride somewhat aggressivly, and all day...
I think you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill!
The track is rubber and pliable. Get the hyfax to the track window, work it through with a screwdriver ( the track bends easily ) grab it with some vise grips and pull. I always smear grease all over the new hyfax where it will...
I would have to tell you to get the Rage. I have one and love it. My best friend and his wife ride an RX1 and a Vector. Toni loves her Vector and says she would pick it over my Rage But her husband says the Rage is the sled he would rather ride even over his 03' RX1. By the way he has an M-10...
Got the Blue Rage.
Put on almaost 2500 miles.Started getting TORS problem after 1000miles. Bypassed- problem gone. Went through 2 sets of skags early on but considering the weight of the sled and the crap I was riding on(no base and only a couple of inches of powder) it should have been...
