If its just a matter of a broken cable they are pretty easy to change. Unscrew the old one and put in a new one. The ice rips them out all the time. I kinda set mine where I wanted it and then never worried about a broken cable anymore. As far as no rebound I have no expertise but a rebuild...

We have snow in the Sault now. Some trails are open. Tomorrow is booked for other stuff but heading for a ride Sunday. Across the river in Michigan is getting good too. Hang in there, it's Canada and there will be winter
