    X-TX SE Questions

I noticed on Yamaha's website they say the XT-X SE has a 2.25 back country track in the "features" section but in the the "specifications" section they list a 1.6 Cobra. Anybody know which track the sled actually has? Secondly I cannot find overall length for these sleds listed anywhere. Any...

    TOOOOO quiet

I bought my Apex last year with an aftermarket can on the #*$&@ end of it. It sounded great on the trailer and for the first 15 minutes I rode it. After a while It started to really get to me and it seemed to amplify the dreaded Apex drone. My ears were ringing at the end of the day and needless...

    TOOOOO quiet

Actually 4 stroke sound waves carry a lot easier than the sound from a 2 stroke. That being said I don't see the harm in wanting your sled to talk back to you a reasonable amount. I totally agree with the staying on the trails mantra and not riding like a dbag past residential areas or people on...

    Heat Exchanger dents

I'm no expert but they look to strictly be in the meat of the fins and should do no harm. I certainly would wonder why a brand new sled would have those? maybe it got dropped on something during assembly?

    What's new for yamaha ?

I know this is the 4 stroke forum but I wish Yamaha would build a modern SRX. As for the Apex I don't want them to throw the baby out with the bath water, especially never abandon the R1 based engine.

Thanks Phatboyc! That's what I figured but wasn't sure. Based on that mine seem to have plenty of meat and based on what you just told me about the Du Ponts not having wear marks I think that is what I have on the sled because I cannot see any lines on them. I plan on pulling everything apart in...

Thanks everyone for the replies! @ YammyRX1, no I didn't buy it for $4000! Lol! I wish! But I think I got a good deal on it, it is very clean and was owned by someone that was good with maintaining sleds. @ Apexallday, I did plan on changing the oil (engine and chaincase) and filter for sure...

First let me say how excited I am to have a sled again after a 3 year sabbatical. I owned a really sweet 2001 SRX for a few years with all kinds of good mods and loved it but sold it and left left sledding for a while. This website was invaluable while I had that sled and I am looking forward to...
