TOOOOO quiet

Off topic and new to this site, and this is pretty much the section I stay in...........just an observation but.....the language on this site I don't find offensive but do find surprising as no other site I've ever joined allows such a thing.........

My sled isn't too quiet....it's just right for it's first year......:4STroke:

I have one on mine now. It is by no means obnoxious. Not saying it will pass sound checks , but it will be closer then you think. If your going to run this muffler and be pissed if you get pinched then you ordered the wrong can from TD. Its the chance you take running this stuff. If YOU ARE hot dogging it and hammering the pi88 out of it around houses or at night or around stopped people along trail then you got it coming.
Nice deep tone!

Do you find it louder then the corn field video Ben put on youtube?

No, But its so hard with sound on videos. I will say this as a comparison. Last two years I had a Cat 7000/ Viper NA with a full Hindle exhaust with headers from Hurricane - this set up was VERY close in tone and sound . Actually I think the TD turbo force once the turbo sucks up some exhaust it takes a little of the bark off of the TD. The Hindle just seemed to scream more when you hammered it. IMO. I drove past (and stopped)by several law enforcement with the Hindle , they never blinked. (MI & WI).
I have not been able to drive my sled but once around my yard with the TD so I do not have a lot of seat time. But I will be running the TD Turbo Force

WOW! I really stirred the pot this time. First of all, 4-strokes with cans or whole exhaust are a COMPLETELY different animal than a piped 2-smoke. The only Apex i heard that was obnoxious was a Hauck. We heard it in mountains 20 minutes after he left us. Secondly, riding off the marked trail or being a jerk near population is also going to hurt us. THE MORAL of the post: 1) A little extra 4-stroke noise is ok 2) stay on marked trails 3) don't be a jerk, have some respect for landowners 4) eat more meat & less veggies or you'll be shitting a lot like MR Sled...

Actually 4 stroke sound waves carry a lot easier than the sound from a 2 stroke. That being said I don't see the harm in wanting your sled to talk back to you a reasonable amount. I totally agree with the staying on the trails mantra and not riding like a dbag past residential areas or people on the side of the trail.

I have 8k miles on my nytro with a Skinz super q undertunnel and header which is Loud but ridden respectfully I've never been hassled and I have stopped at plenty of dnr checkpoints.

I will just add i love power and speed, but a loud exaust is annoying as hell..just stay off the flipper when going through residential areas or we will loose our trails!!!!when you hit a lake GIVE'R'DOG!!!

Maybe time has come to but hour limits on trails? Why would anybody with a brain ride at 2 am past people house and then wonder why trails are closed? 2nd nothing good happens at 2 am but drunk riders!
I know a lot of the locals in Maine ride at night because they say it's safer than being out in the daylight with all the out of state riders. "You can see the headlights more easily at night".
I personally feel uncomfortable riding at night because i don't trust the Deer, and moose use the trails allot.

I used to ride all the time right from my buddies back yard who lived in lewiston maine.....from there, snow permitting we'd ride anywhere from the county an back.....sure we didn't always like to but sometimes coming back from a 4day trip we'd have no choice to ride past peoples houses at 2am.........we weren't drunk....and people who know me sometimes call me the man with TWO brains....thank you very much....

Riders Ride!

when you ride 500 miles in a day, the slightly loud becomes painfull and obnoxious and for everybody else also...

Oh ya it does!!
I rode about 25 miles behind an apex with an excell exhaust last winter.
If i got within 15 feet of him it was like being hit in the head with a hammer.
Absolutely miserable experience. I cant even imagine running behind that all day every weekend.

On a side note. If this sidewinder is really as quiet as the OP is saying then there will be one in my garage soon.
My viper with EVO quiet can is slowly deafening me.

I bought my Apex last year with an aftermarket can on the #*$&@ end of it. It sounded great on the trailer and for the first 15 minutes I rode it. After a while It started to really get to me and it seemed to amplify the dreaded Apex drone. My ears were ringing at the end of the day and needless to say I put the stock muffler back on. I wish there were more options out there because I would like to let the thing talk more than stock but that empty metal shell isn't the answer!
