There is no way that they just guessed spring and damping rates!!
I know for a fact that they are testing all of their shocks untill they are satisfied, before releasing a set for a new model like the XTX!
They sell -09 RR in Sweden! Im sure it is a great ditchbanger sled.
But i dont want to mix oil in the gastank and cange jetting every time i go to the mountains!
Feels like going back to the 90:s
Someone said that the weight is not in the chassis.
The Doo 1200 motor is heavier than both the Apex and Nytro motor, and still the XR is lighter than the nytro.
Id say yamaha could loose some weight in the chassis.
The XR 1200 motor weighs 58kg.(127,6lbs)
try to get hold of a SE if you want a short track and like the tunnel! The SE has the same tunnel as the RTX.
Edit: i just remembered that the SE is springorder only in the US, here in Sweden its not.
There is a bulletin in Sweden also, saw it at my dealer the other day.
Not a recall, but if you have the problem and bring it to the dealer they will replace them with the updated ones.
The new updated ones has 3 punchmarks on one side so you can tell the difference by loking at them.
Im running the backcountry track om my RTX, great track for offtrail riding and not the best on the trail.
The luggs are a little to soft imo.
I have absolutely no issues with slider wear.
I put on 1300 miles last season, riding everything from powder to icy conditions, and the sliders stay...
I saw Blaze at SwedenX this spring. He did some really impressive things with his stock nytro. Ending up in 3rd place in the contest. Talked to him during one of the breaks an he showed me the sled. Only mods were the 4 shocks that he had with him from the states...
Totally agree with Turk and 08NitroRTX.
I think the Attack is the best Yamaha sled for your type of riding. The Renegade will be a great sled for that type of riding too.
I have MTX skis on my RTX, They are absolutely awesome off tail and great on lose trails. only downside is heavy steering. Make sure to flip the rubbers 180 degrees and do the upper balljoint mod.
Mine are mounted as stock not offseted.
