What can we do as a collective group to get Yamaha to address our handwarmer issue. There is obviously an issue and cannot be chalked up to internet hype. The warmers just do not work. What can we do as a group to get this problem fixed. I appreciate the members who have offered solutions to fix the problem but we just spent $13000.00 give or take for a machine that does not operate properly and the manufacturer should stand up and fix this problem? As a whole we need to work together and apply enough pressure and get results. Any suggestions?

Perhaps if someone on here is in good with one of the editors/writers for one of the more popular snowmobile magazines, maybe by contacting them we will get results ? What really upsets me is that BRP addressed ALL of their issues with the XP not only in magazines, but online AND by contacting the owners of their sleds, where YAMAHA can't even let us know that they are aware of the issue, and are working on a fix ! Maybe YAMAHA didn't sign up for the quality control and awareness sessions that BRP did, I dunno, but they always say that admitting you have a problem is the first step in getting it resolved.... ;)!

Dave,

I like your idea but since most of the mags depend on Yamaha's advertising dollars they may be hesitant to point flaws as it may put a bad taste in the mouth of yamaha and influence thier spending. I guess we could focus on the mags that tell it like it is and don't just say everything is great to encourage the advert peoples spending. Forget about OSM Yamaha ads throughout.

i just called yamaha canada and told them about my 09 se with the handwarmer issue and they said i was the first to call so first i would say get everone on here to call or email instead of writing it on there or tell your dealer he told me but also he said they did have a fix for the 908 nytros apperntley yamaha came out with a new harness

They tell anyone that calls about a problem that "you're the first to call about this" . Standard Operating Procedure at Yamaha Customer Service.

twiz28, you have asked a constructive question and deserve a constructive response. The only way that Yamaha will recognise the issue is through their dealer network, which means you must report the problem to your dealer.

We all know that Yamaha is aware that consumers believe their handwarmers are less than adequate. Yamaha Canada had a blog about it and the snowmobile magazines have commented on it too. Even the outfit that conducts the demo rides for Yamaha recognise the problem. I not aware of anything else you can do or a collective group can do other than reporting the problem to your dealer.

Swiss you are 100% right, but as stated here by many who have tried the dealer/Yamaha route little is accomplished and for a company who is "aware" of the problem it is funny how many are still told "you are the first to call" I'm going to call and see if I get the same.
