what's the best controller for a supercharger?

I added a intercooler and a shim to my nytro and hooked up 3 extra injectors together with Mcx gen 5 controller with bluetooth for logging directly to my phone. Everything works like a charm, afr is spot on!

    Pulleys/bov Too much boost??

I use the mcx head shim from their 240/270 and same pulleys as you. That combo gives me 12psi @ sealevel/8800 rpm. I use only premium pump.

    Clutching SC Nytro

I had no luck with my supertips, way to hard to maintain rmp when you go on/off trail. If you loose rpm you loose your boost. If you have a turbo supertips is the way to go! With a turbo you have full boost pressure even at lower rpms. This is my setup (10-13psi @ 8800): Primary: blue -...

To shim or not to shim; that is the question....

Hard to explain how a engine "feels" after a headshim, best i think would be if you where able to throw a leg over a sled with a shim installed and try it before pulling the trigger. I installed a shim on my supercharged nytro and now i run pumpgas @ 10-13psi on sea level.

    Headshim vs Stock compression

I first did the 180hp (6psi) for one year.. then i mounted the headshim and upgraded the fuel system for 12-13psi for this season. On stock compression the engine have a more raw feeling i think, it's hard to explain but now with the headshim it feels more like a big block 2-stroke engine...

    New Supercharger

I din my first year on 6psi... thats what it takes to get you hooked so for this year i went for a head shim, intercooler, mcx fuel system. Runs strong now on 10-13 lbs of boost @ sea level and pump gas.

    s/c nytro clutch spring

Supercharger with about 10-13 psi of boost: Primary: blue - silver - blue Secondary: white - white @ 80deg 8HG-00 loaded to about 100g 43 deg helix This set up runs good, only thing i might change is to another helix like 48-40 (multi angle) to prevent over rev. //AG

    New Supercharger

First read trough the instructions from MPI, after that you just follow them step by step. You need to have a good set of tools and some special ones like hole saw ect. If you get in to trouble just shoot me a question and i try to help.

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

Thank's for the input Riceburner! That's a smart ting to route the vent hose down i a small bottle to see if if it's pushing out oil that way. Right now i have a small hole in the subframe where the hose goes in to. This weekend i rolled the sled probably 10 times to get unstuck so there must...

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

Just got a weekend in of hard riding! @2800 feet and 8800 rpm i had about 10psi and the sled ran strong, not a single hesitation when punching the throttle! I have a small afr spike just in the beginning before the injectors catch up, when i look at other mcx 270hp turbos they have the exact...

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

I hope you will have better luck this time! Lowering compression takes away some of that nice character from the engine but without the possibility to get anything better than premium pump gas here in Sweden i had no other option. I hope that cold air, low compression, and low afr will keep my...

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

Hi Yamadog! Do you use head shim, modified ignition or racegas to reach 10psi on your setup?

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

Well now i found where my boost where hiding. Here is a reading from my first pull, track is just lifted from the floor... i have no snow here by the coast to do some real tests :( MAP = 187.92 = 12.75 PSI @ sea level  //AG

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

I have fuel for about 12-13 psi, after that i need to upgrade the stock pump. If the bov spring doesn't hold up i will make it do! :) I can post a new graph from my phone when i get the new pulley combo if you are interested! //AG

Where's my boost hiding? (MPI S/C)

Thank's for the reply Agman! If you look at my graph with 28/28 pulleys i'm not building any boost before 7000 rpm from 7000rpm to 8000rpm it builds about 3psi. So what srxspec said that it builds about 3psi/1000rpm feels about right. I hope with 23/31 i can start to build boost earlier...

A BIG Thank You srxspec! that did clear things up for me! :rocks: I have a new pair of pulleys coming in this week. 21 top and 31 bottom, i hope that will get things going! This is a graph i recorded to my phone from my test run with 28 / 28 pulley combo: 0-80mph WOT Top...
