Being a universal part between Yamaha/Cat, I should have ordered from cat. I'll give my local dealer a call tomorrow. Mostly to see who's being catered to.
Redline 1,
I took it off a couple years ago to access my throttle body clamp limiters (Barrels)
I just can't process me doing something that ignorant, and then forgetting about it. Lol.
I ordered a replacement from Partzilla. Let's see how long that takes. Probably should have tried CountryCat.
Found this during my routine Inspection. Common problem? Anyone have a fix or just replace? Ty...
Inter seal still intact but just one wot pull from a bad day.
Thought you were in jail?!?! Anyway, IDK?? Not sure if the harmonics/distortion are good for the clutches. Must be a reason Tapp tried to offer an inexpensive cure. I'll roll with it and see how things go.
Simplespeed, all these years and it never bothered me. Then the magical silent seal thingamabob came out. I'll say, for $80 it peaked my curiosity, only to be a bust and completely disappointed. Especially after it worked for the first 5 10 minutes.
Another member must have heard my cries and...
Nitro shaft with factory original bearing (4200 miles)
I did this mostly to prove to myself, the nitro snub shaft to be quieter then the factory shaft.
Please note; I'm posting this for people who want to fix the problem not to the people who want to ridicule everything they've never tried.
It might be easier to get belt temps B4 any changes. Ive been running
Primary 120°
Secondary 90°
Belt 145°
200°+ the belt will start to be compromised.
Just my .02¢
Yeah, to satisfy himself he posts a video of Base oil properties. It sure would have been nice if he posted after the fact videos.
I'm thinking our biggest problem is fuel dilution. Big boost, big pumps, etc. has me processing the thought of going to a 5/40 weight. But like all things I'll need...
Agree & understood. We have to remember that zddp is poisonous to the catalytic converter (which we don't have)
The more I research the more I see a commonality of 800ppm & additive package. In my mind they are supplementing the zddp with a more aggressive additive package to protect that very...
This topic reminds of the many Tesla owners (with their $20,000 batteries) left stranded over the winter, here in Chicago.
Don't believe me, ask Trump....
Knapp, I think Mobile 1 is an outstanding (low performance) oil. Meaning there are better choices when considering race application.
For a guy who's just riding his sled around willy-nilly, it's perfect.
I'm thinking more along the lines of 300hp and continuous pulls, or long pulls for that...
Turbo, not my desire... I believe Amsoil to be extremely stable product
In all fairness there are a few members here that are rebuilding the 998s more so than most of us know.
Oil being the lifeblood that holds the engine together under extreme use, perhaps I'm just challenging riders on here to...
Yes, Rat540 certainly stands behind Quaker State.
We have to be careful when we use the word "high". It can be misleading. The motor oil geek claims 1400ppm is The Sweet spot pending what's in the balance of the additive package. You are correct, higher doses, say doubling, would yield...
Yes, to all that you say. I was just trying to bring home the fact that most off-the-shelf oil contains the minimum of zinc phosphorus that an engine requires. Amsoil 0w30 contains higher levels of zddp, I just couldn't find the spec.
And the reason I bring this up is twofold, one being I...
