    2025 SRX

Looking at the Catalyst 146 Riot 600 yesterday the layout and space under hood is exceptional and appears that working on and getting to the work is far better than all other newer sleds.. There are so many improvements its very impressive…I like the design and your looking at sled of the...

Measured Stock '23 SRX Specs - Weight and Clutch Offset

U I believe you are correct that there certainly can be differences in offset but the method Mike Knapp is using to determine correct offset is also the best way. One variable that we need to keep in mind that cool clutches equal no slip and normally have proper alignment, proper offset and a...

How exactly do you measure 1/8" toe out?

And also the reason why you lift the sled from front bumper and set back on ground is its the true relax position of ski’s . You do this before and after adjustments to get a true reading on your toe out or toe in … You can take your measurements from where ever you think is best…. When you...

How exactly do you measure 1/8" toe out?

He is doing it right but there are 2 improvements you may want to consider and they are , strap the handlebars to rear bumper to keep them dead straight during adjustments, and clamp you long straight edge to the edge of the track so you don’t move it during measurements and or adjustments…...

How exactly do you measure 1/8" toe out?

Your all right but the video made by factory engineer from Arttic cat was best in my humble opinion…He used long straight bars butted to edge of track, straps to hold handle bar straight, then lifted and set sled on ground before taking measurements and showed how to make adjustments….

Today's as good a day as any...

Lots of knowledge and egos and opinions from years of doing this.. Knapp stated it right, their is nothing like snowmobiling and when we jump on our sleds its truly a fix without a drug.. when you stop learning from those that know, its time to hang it up, otherwise no question is out of bounds…...

    Traction set-up questions

The one thing I have learned over the years is their are numerous ways to reach a certain goal with studding base on many factors…. Horsepower, power bands, clutching, suspension, gearing, tracks , lugs, conditions all effect type, lenght and number of studs… Changing one or two of these can...

    Traction set-up questions

Not sure I would be running any prolong wide open runs , but Iam sure it will hold up for this season if you take it easy… you don’t want to find out what happens if you blow it on a tight trail at high speed…. Just not worth it…

    Traction set-up questions

Looking at your second picture it appears you have stressed your track a major amount at the reinforcement rods with rubber missing in alot of area’s … you might want to keep a close eye on that track….

    Traction set-up questions

Information is good to know and these problems could happen to any manufacturer and when they stand behind there products thats all you can ask… With that said you changed 144 to 196 after a quality control issue in a effort for better traction you added more studs which is normal thinking.. So...

    2025 SRX

I get that and its no different with any brand …Its rare you can buy anything that is perfect out of the box… And anything with tracks, wheels, or propellers always seem to be in need of somekind adjustments . Nature of the deal …..

    Midwest snow report

Climate Change may have some effects on winter in some area’s at certain times but in my opinion its not the cause of current warmer than normal temps. On December 14, 2023 at 12:02 the sun let off a solar flare that was so big its done alot of damage to satellites, and when it hit the magnetic...

    Traction set-up questions

The limiting factor in penetration is the track lug so long studs naturally will want to penetrate deeper providing the surface allows it … stud flex is there but limited in movement based on stud shoulder, ( limits movement) plate design , Nut design, and rubber track construction . Yes it...

    Traction set-up questions

without proper penetration to move your force forward you lose leverage. When you lose leverage you start to spin, adding more studs will help, but its not the best answer in most cases. Deeper penetration leading to increase leverage I have found to be the better option and agree with...
