I'm starting to understand things...I understand what works for one doesn't work for all.
I understand that the Canadians run 2000' competitively (a place where 2strokes will not survive, for long) with amazing top speeds.
I understand that some run 1000ft and others pride themselves in the hard charge to 660' (a place 4strokes don't dare to try)
1" tracks are fast and 1.5" tracks help to dig in soft snow.
There are those who trail ride at a fast clip (where I would kill myself) just to get the rush. And others ride to get away....
Some products work for one, maybe not for all. It's a thought.
We are all here for a reason, perhaps it's to enjoy the part of snowmobiling that we, as individuals, like to do. And what makes me happy, imagine that.
None of us have to try to push others in a different direction. Continue to help each other reach goals. Perhaps we should try to relate, to what others are trying to do. Instead of calling them stupid.
The thing that makes me laugh a bit, will always be the "withholding of knowledge" or to hold back good solid advice, cuz a particular member hasn't earned it yet.
I think some of you want to be buried with your copy of Olav's book of clutch tuning, laid across your chest. As it may keep you safe.
As always, I'm very thankful to be part in the group. I am especially thankful to the individual member who's has taken his time to help me put the pieces together. He has helped me on those days I felt lost.
Anywho.... enjoy the day.
Peace out....

Lots of knowledge and egos and opinions from years of doing this.. Knapp stated it right, their is nothing like snowmobiling and when we jump on our sleds its truly a fix without a drug.. when you stop learning from those that know, its time to hang it up, otherwise no question is out of bounds… I don’t condemn anyone who has worked hard to develop their own speed secrets and do not wish to share as many hours of time and money was most likely spent wrenching and testing. This holds especially true when it comes to clutching and the delicate balance to be perfect… Sometimes we need to go learn it ourselves which is really the reason many are on here.. Anyhow, Happy New Year and may everyone ride safe, and bring em back safe and sound….

My thought on that is two fold...Lots of knowledge and egos and opinions from years of doing this.. 1) guys that just want a better combo for themselves.
2) guys that are racing competitively.
I think to come on here and help point people in the right direction is one thing vs taking part in another's race team. Haha....
Besides, you wouldn't be surprised at how helpful a simple question on Fakebook can provide.
Me: what's a good starting point for a helix, based on this?!?!
Responder: the 998t likes to be loaded up, try 45° it will get you close, then start tuning from there vs "go figure it out for yourself" haha...damn!!
Note: I didn't take that specific advise. Just saying. Ha
A strong group of very knowledgeable peeps rest in here.
My overall message is, maybe we can give back to Tom, the sight, and it's venders.
