I was informed by Dave @snowstuds that the carbides for the cat ski and they Stryke ski were identical. Sounded like they were essentially a cat ski. Without having both in front of me I obviously can't confirm that.
I put the 1.5 ripsaw2 on mine this season. About 2500 miles on it and just noticed a missing lug. Pretty sure I hit something off trail though.
Track hooks good. I have 144 studs in the middle only.
Had this same issue with mine. Juat spent about 6 hours pressure testing, tightening hose clamps and doing a leak down. Finally got it to hold pressure and thing I have it figured out. Main clamps that were loose were; front heat exchanger, coolant bleeder block, and bottom of t-stat housing...
Let's see those high mileage winders and what has been done to them.
I have a 2018 that has had a 280 precision efi tune since 3k miles. Currently at 10,000 miles. Major repairs:
Bulkhead, front heat exchanger, and driveshaft @ 7500 miles under yes warranty.
New track @7500 miles.
Upper gear @...
After 5 years of being the fastest sled, your competition is going to out "doo" you. It will probably be fairly close out of the box but won't be nearly as capable as the winder. Look at the auto industry. The domestic automakers keep going back and forth being the fastest (hellcats, zr1, etc)...
I run 6inch. I tried 8 inch once and steering effort was a little much for my likes.
Sniper double downs seem like a great mix of bite and easy steering.
I agree, they bite amazing. I have about 1500 miles on a set on my winder. Seems like my standard double downs held up way better, but I like the bite of the sniper better
I've ran curves for the past 5 years with with combination of different carbides and the best I've found for performance and longevity have been snow studs 6" double downs. Last me about 4k miles and handle great.
Front heat exchanger is leaking on my 18 ltx dx with about 7800 miles on it. Motor mounts are welded directly to the heat exchanger and the weld cracked.
