What's best for charge tube and plenum clamps? Stay with factory wormgear clamp or go with something different? I'm going to have it apart to update TB clamp spacers so it would be a good time to do any other updates. Thanks

    Throttle body boost leaks

I will check into that. These would be easy for me to make at work on a lathe if I had the specs.

    Caliper movement /tunnel flexing?

I haven't noticed any bulkhead movement or brake pulse on mine after installing the wedge, BUT I have alot of brake rotor rattle at low speed now. If I apply a slight amount of brake the rattle disappears.

    Throttle body boost leaks

Can anyone tell me what the ID. and OD. of the factory clamp spacer is? I would like to make some new ones up before I start to change them out. From what I've seen on here, .125 to .170 is the desired length. Thanks

    Top Gear Bushing

The Toughmet3 bushing has held up great for me. I checked it after 2000mi and still really good. There is some minor fitting required to make it fit initially.

    sidewinder chaincase carnage

I installed a toughmet3 bushing in the 21T last year, 2000mi @ 240/270 and its still great. Original bushing lasted 1200mi = junk.

To all that received chaincase shims!

I ran a bushing made of toughmet3 material last year. 2000mi @240/270HP and the bushing is still really good! I'm actually going to continue to run it. I got the bushing from grainger and it will require a small amount of work to make it fit. Check out my previous posts on fitment.

    Octane Booster

I transfer booster into 4oz chemical resistant plastic bottles then put bottles into foam can coozies for safe transportation.

    Octane Booster

I ran VP octane booster last year with good results, no lights on 270HP. I typically ran about 4oz per full tank of fuel. I tried VP first because I can buy it locally.

Remove you primary rollers to inspect!!

Great advice! I inspect the rollers often and replace them every season. Cheap insurance IMO.

    upper gear bushing

I'm not seeing any lack of lubrication or rotation issues, but I do see material fatigue from uneven pressure. I wouldn't want any extra grooves or holes to reduce load bearing surface. .02

    Break calliper or rotor noise

Mine got really loud after new shaft and bearing lock. I switched pads around and see if that changes anything this weekend. I wanted to try a light spring over the pin between pads but that pushed pistons back too much giving poor brake lever feel. Definitely annoying.

    upper gear bushing

I know I probably stand alone here, but I've got 1300 mi. so far on the toughmet 3 bushing I installed this year with no signs of trouble. Original OEM bushing 1500 mi. had .008 taper. Currently: toughmet3 upper bushing, reused factory chain&gears, 16 oz. Amsoil, 1.25 loose, 270Hp. I plan to...

Boost Reading in Dash with TD Dash Flash

    Mine reads that when idling.

    Is this some here?

I went with one of these bushings this year also. It's definitely a good quality bushing but does require some ID fitting (at least mine did).

    Ltx se blowing belts

I have the SM bundle and tuned from day one. I run the 240hp most of the time with fuel I have available. The small amount of testing I did I didn't really notice much difference in engine breaking at 6-3 but I liked how the secondary back shifted there. The only reason I'm going back to 6-2 is...

Yeah, I was doing just that last year with one of the 850's when HE blew a belt, then he didn't want to play anymore.

    Ltx se blowing belts

I tested this same clutch setup after updating to SS tunes. We have marginal snow but I was able to do a few 1000ft pulls. Primary was normal warm but the belt and movable secondary were on the verge of hot. My xs825 has 1000mi on from last year and is a good belt choice IMO. I had to empty the...

    300 mile review

I know the feeling Sledbrapping88, I'll have 3 850's in our group to deal with this year. They've been talking smack all fall and are ready to swarm me....I figure I'll on the leader first and the other two will back off...I've seen this before.
