Been searching for the thread that has the part number for the replacement top gear bushing. Anyone have the part number and a place to order? I need to get a couple.

Which one? There were a number of them guys tried.
AA-1110-1 oil impregnated bronze
16BU16 PTFE composite
EXEP1816 oil & PTFE impregnated
BBEP161824 BB-16 sintered iron/copper sleeve
McMaster 6381K563 is multipurpose SAE 660 leaded bronze. Seems to be a favorite.
Then there was a Toughmet one. (https://catalog.buntingbearings.com...ze-c96900-toughmet3-alloy-bearings/tmcb161808)
Check out Bronzebushings.com
The Toughmet3 bushing has held up great for me. I checked it after 2000mi and still really good. There is some minor fitting required to make it fit initially.

Stay away from anything bronze they don't last.

That DMC bushing is what Cat should be doing from the factory!!!
It provides much more support there than the stock width bushing, which is wearing out in that inside part of the stock bushing.

Agreed. It's amazing (and dissappointing) that this issue hasn't been solved long ago. All they needed to do was redesign the top gear, there is lots of room on the top shaft

Prevost Performance has a much cheaper design than the DMC and you can press it in yourself. No need to machine gears .

I am hearing that the ToughMet3 bushing is going to be discontinued. Probably not selling enough of them and looking to reduce inventory (likely due to COVID).

I discovered the wear of the upper gear in time. The shaft should be in order, no wear was detected. Which one should I install? TD, BOP?

We just checked our 2 sleds and mcmaster bushing 2867T67 is perfect at near 2000 miles, 1 sled only made it 1250 miles on stock bushing.
You do have to hone bushing some after pressed in gear.

I think the 287T67 cost about $6 USD. Cheap fix. It's also cheap enough to change with the chain case oil.
