differences over model years between rage and vector

‘06 and ‘07 Rage has the Mono, no-action suspension in them prior years. Mounting locations between the Mono and Proactive suspension were different, did a swap into my ‘06 RS Nytro years ago. What year is the Vec in question?

    FX Nytro handling

@bjowett talked about recreating this years back but it never came to be. It’s too bad the big Y didn’t push the development of this front end into production. With a longer wheelbase and decent front end geometry the Nytro really was a terrific sled. I’m still considering shoehorning a four...

    Nytro chaincase missing parts

Listen to Sleddy, it’s a thing. We have half a dozen high mileage four strokes in our family and all of them have been trailered a lot so the p brake cables are pretty stretched. Repositioning the shaft inward will get you where you need to be, I’ve had to do it on several sleds over the years.

OFSC Trails and GPS in Ontario

The OFSC is very “backwards” in the way that they approach certain things. Seems as though the brain trust in Barrie is living in a vacuum most of the time, very out of touch with both local club/district and trail user issues alike. The attitude within the bureaucracy has become very...

Question about purchasing an apex xtx

I put a stretched 146” Mono skid with tipped rails under my ‘16 Ape and it still felt long on the trail. If you’re set on an XTX I’d opt for a 12-15 and upgrade the CK skid so it rides decent, lots of tips on this site if you do a search. If you’re OK with a 136/137” skid I’d buy an 11-15...

Question about purchasing an apex xtx

I haven’t seen many 2018’s listed over the years, but lots of the others.

Question about purchasing an apex xtx

2016-2018 Apex XTX had the Singleshot rear suspension and a 2.86” pitch 146” track, that’s the only real difference across the board. 2018 sleds had the YRSS front shock setup too but these sleds are pretty rare. Prices seems to vary greatly from region to region, hard to make a call on that.

    ulmer h helix?

Any helix you order from Dale himself, or any shop he deals with will have the angles engraved as long as it isn’t part of a “kit”. Helix’s he cut for Proline, 2 Kool, Bender, etc. for kits always have codes stamped on them as identifiers, but no angles.

    ulmer h helix?

That doesn’t look anything like the Helix’s Ulmer Racing supplies in their clutch kits. Unless something has changed recently that’s from another kit. Also highly unlikely Dale will give out the angles, he’s tight lipped when it comes to proprietary cuts he does for clutch kits, as he should be.

    Air box vents

First gen Apes ran pretty rich, you can likely add quite a few more to lean out the afr closer to the sweet spot.

2016 Viper turbo - recall question

The garbage Fox Float XV shock was recalled on the Ape’s and replaced with a dual chamber unit that worked significantly better out of the box.

    998 Winder Weight Reduction

Kinger shaved A TON of weight off of his DBII chassis turbo project sleds. I agree it’s a tall order to do the same on a Procross without compromising too much in the strength department.

    Drive shaft bearing...09 Nytro xtx

For $30, a half hour of my time, and piece of mind knowing the bearing won’t seize itself to the driveshaft I replace this bearing every year regardless of miles put on the year before.

    Grooves in my weights.

You’d be much better off with the right clutch, but at only 10k you can likely just rebuild what you have with some new parts and be good to go for many more k’s.

    Studding a higher mileage track

If the surface of the snow is like cement nothing beats an original rip, and it’s still the “fastest” 1.25 lug track if top speed is your thang. I do agree a rip II works better in looser conditions, it’s more like the old Predator/Carve/6 pitch 1.25. I loved those tracks on trail sleds.

I may not be the first one across the lake, but I always seem to get there with my Yammy powered Checkmate. Guys I know who run Mercs? Not so much. The new SHO line of 4 stroke outboards is making quite the push into the performance boating market with the big tunes now available. You’re...
