Hi Guys,
We have been asked about the new helix on a 2019 srx sidewinder.
We do have one here.
It is, as you can see the casting numbers show it as a 37. (8KC70 is cast into the back side)=37 when it is a raw cast
That 8KC70 would stand for 37 as a raw cast the way it would normally come.It is...
This spring is a newest version of DPSS-YBO ( Black with orange mark)
It is identified by a single, solid horizontal stripe on one wire coil of the spring as shown. Previous version had a stripe across multiple coils.
If you had been previously tuning with our earlier version there is a slight...
Sorry, there were a couple that got shipped without the new sheet for the updated one. Email us and we will get it to you.
I'll try to post it actually
For sure there are lots that are fine. Any we have heard of that broke seem to have done so fairly quickly within a few hundred miles. Thats up to you. We just dont want it to happen to anyone and are fine with replacing if you want to.
Appreciate the comments guys. We are getting some emails of springs that have high miles and no problems, and it makes me wonder how many, hopefully not too many but it is what it is.
Will do our best to fix it and move on.
Thanks
all have made good points here.
It seems to be fairly well proven now,..and by people who know whats going on and have looked over things well and tested a lot, so it is what it is. There is no question that it is a big part of the picture.
When you really think about it some have added...
Just thought I'd post a few notes based on the past seasons on riders using these sidewinders for some time now.
Of course, there is always lots of talk about everyone's favorite clutch recipe and all of that....it is always a well discussed topic and some set ups have become popular, but the...
Hi Fleecer. Wow, no you would not need to do any of that.
We were referring to regular mail ( where you would not have to get into any of that), however just email us. this, as mentioned is not supposed to be hard for you. There are other options.
Hi Guys, getting lots of email. Appreciate the positive responses we read here. Not all correspondence is quite as positive sounding, because they are afraid it will cost them to get the replacement. I think just because people are used to getting ripped and we understand. We will try to do the...
and thank you for the comments.
Wish we could have found out sooner, or wish we even knew how many it may be that are out there like this.
It just is what it is I guess.
We will do our very best to make it right as soon as possible. (which is already too late for lots of guys this season I...
yes, however, I have seen some badly beaten up springs come out of clutches over the years , they should be very durable.
This is actually kind of different. Electric arc on some that did not have good contact. Under magnification it looks like a spec or spot of weld spatter. The arc type thing...
As the title says, we are going to re-call some springs.
We have had a some of our Dalton Black /Orange spring , part number DPSS-YBO break.
We have sold a lot of this spring. It certainly strikes us as odd to hear of it. There have not been a lot of them but ANY is not good. We recently heard...
Maybe I can help with that.
The reason you see them all sitting at a angle when not installed is this.
The desired aprings are requesting "more side pressure". More side pressure is created from longer free length.
When you take a spring and stretch it longer the springs have coils that come...
yeah , probably so. However you are running taller than stock gearing and i think a quite powerful tune which requires quite a bit of weight in the primary. The combination of primary weight and the taller gearing may require that but maybe not for everyone. Thats why I mentioned that others...
