I replaced the engine in my 06 apex 3 years ago and when I put the new (used) one that I bought in, I found out that the water pump was cracked. I had to pull the engine for a second time. I was able to swap the pump from my old engine without removing anything but the bolts that hold it on...
I think they ended up selling more than they thought. I hope they keep making them. We love ours too, like hibshman said it's pretty cool that I can hop on it and pull the kids on the sled around the yard. In 3 years when the 9 year old moves up to a phazer my 4 year old will move right on up...
Cadillac has some pretty good riding and you being from Illinois it's not a bad drive. That's our go to spot when we want to get some good miles without driving 6+ hrs. There's plenty of hotels and some decent night life once the riding is done.
Did a search on google and it brought me to an arctic cat forum - Others with the arctic act version have had issues with the throttle position sensor. I was just able to reproduce it in the garage. Looks like I need to tighten the throttle cable.
I bought mine used and the previous owner severely neglected it. I got it cheap but I now realize the amount of money and time I've put into it I could have bought a nice low mile Apex.
