I got the call yesterday to let me know my sled was in and that he made a mistake and ordered me the RED as oppose the Blue one.....I got such a smokin' deal to trade up so I just kinda sucked up the bad news as I don't hate the red I just find the 18 Graphics not layed out properly and kind of...
Be careful Stone some might call you a liar since you don't have facts , video's or live testimonials ........ask me how I know. Seems that some people only want to believe what they want but as Stone said above this is reality.
A brand new winder LTX. Le here in Canada retails for $2o,400 plus 13% tax. At $16,400 that would be a smokin' deal. I paid $17200 last year plus taxes for the LE and that was a very aggressive price
Once again I bought a 200plus hp sled to drive it like a 600 cc . I'm very close to going to a 850 for next season. I know they have been tossing a few belts too but they are also 5k cheaper when all said and done with mods etc and Doo will correct that for next season is my bet.
I've blown a second one at 360 miles with a dalton 40-35 helix and dalton white spring. First one lasted 500 miles. I've got 860 total miles and I've blow 2 belts so far.
I Machined spring pocket 70 thou and did the rollers and sheave bushing at 400 miles so no help in the belt dept.
Ive...
Does anyone know the Part # for the Carlisle belt direct replacement for the 8JP? Their site only lists measurements and not sled specific. I'm thinking I will try one does anyone have feedback?
Thanks!
The faces were very hot and what was left of the belt was also hot. I've got a STM Sec to test out as well but the two helix's I have are way off the mark so I am awaiting for another one to test. I just find it so strange that I never seem to escape the belt demons and that they always seem...
Well.....I blew another belt on Wed this being my second one at 767 miles and they both blew while getting on and off the gas (8JP). I installed my spare 8DN and I quickly noticed that the clutch would need re-calibrating as the machine felt more sluggish. As on now this Winder is worse on...
Yes for you guys wanting to step up your stock Winder Marty's recipe is wicked. It it nowhere near a stocker when raced side by side which I seen with my own eyes. He installed a kit on the stocker and it picked up 5-6 Mph on top with huge wholeshot advantage.
I'd like to thanks Marty for taking his valuable time for meeting up with is last Friday and helping us Clutch our TD powertrail sidewinders.
After a few attempts they now are running like a top and the arm pull is insane.
I did 460 km today and had a huge smile on my face.
I'd like to...
The Vibration you are experiencing is the two secondary bushings that are worn or too loose on the shaft from new. We all had that same issue and once we got custom ones made(Yamaha ones are junk) our issue was gone.
Yep, I can confirm that I've seen 2 that have chew marks behind the primary from contacting the retainer bolts and the clutch sheave is now junk IMO. One also spun on the shaft and has discolored the snub a little (hence the reason for the re torque from yam). I checked mine after updated re...
Just thought it would be a great idea to keep all clutching improvements and testing under one roof so we can easily track the improvements.
FYI I have been seeing more and more Winder's with the secondary bushings completely chewed up in helix and sheave.
We have a few excellent Yamaha...
I think the secondary is binding. When I look at mine I only gave one roller touching the helix and after inspecting you can clearly see the one touching has more wear on helix then the other two. That tells me that it's always travelling crooked down its path. Now the big question is why?
Someone better come out with a fix soon for the belt blowing issues. Talked to two other sidewinder owners today bone stock and they both blew belts under 400 miles. This is soooooo repetitive from the past cats I've owned. Very very dissapointing
