cat had this problem and I assumed we have a different clutch so we wouldnt...but following the 108/43 ft lbs torquing procedure some have hit the crank bearing retainer bolt heads!
I will be checking mine tonight and removing the bolts looking for a button head bolt ...something with less protrusion for sure...
just wanted to give a heads up..

Yamaha has mounted their clutch on this motor long enough to not have some clearance problem

Are you talking about the 4 bolts that hold the bearing housing that holds the output shaft on to the splined crank?

exactly...if the taper is the same...why is the torquing different?

It is a different primary.
Yep, I can confirm that I've seen 2 that have chew marks behind the primary from contacting the retainer bolts and the clutch sheave is now junk IMO. One also spun on the shaft and has discolored the snub a little (hence the reason for the re torque from yam). I checked mine after updated re torque with a mirror and boy it's within a hair at most before contacting. I did 50 miles or so and no contact so check yours boys and girls and let us know your findings. Cheers

Well.....this is not good boys. I hope that they report the concern so we can all get a fix for this.

Checked it today.....It has near 1/8" clearance here.
Very odd that this has so much space, and some are hitting here? Wow.
Just use a mirror and light...under the drive clutch reflecting the mirror upward behind primary to see.
