My season is over, so I figured I’ll get my maintenance done so the sled is ready to go for next year. I always do this.
So I’ll start by saying my sled just turned over 14,000kms this past season so it needs some love. I do the usual maintenance like idler bearings every other year, oil change...
I used to have to check the valve clearance on my old 2006 yzf 250. That required it like every 30hrs lol.
I just assumed it was a pain in the a** getting in there
The bad valves I believe were in the 16’ vipers. My sled runs great, like the day I bought it. Just doesn’t want to start in a bit of cold weather. I’ll start with a new battery and go from there. I have noticed just this past season it is cranking a bit slower than usual.
I’ll start by saying I’m still on the original battery with 11,300kms. Voltage is still 14+ and I always connect it to my optimate tender after a ride.
Sled almost always starts in the warm shop, but with hesitation. After it starts and runs throughout the day, it usually fires up right away...
I have 11,300kms on my 2018 viper, has been awesome so far. Comfort, handling and reliability has been excellent. Always good to see new offerings, it drives competition. Hopefully Yamaha & cat have something good to offer. They’re overdue imo.
I was extremely impressed with Polaris sleds for 23’. 9R, boosted 850 trail sled and a twin 998cc four stroke. Not a bad lineup for tough times.
Don’t get me wrong, nothing beats a Yamaha engine and I absolutely love my viper. I think that’s why most of us here buy their sleds is because of...
I believe there was only one model last year, the dark blue & regal gold which I love so much but they didn’t offer the EPS on it. I would’ve bought it.
Maybe there won’t be any vipers this year, who knows. From what I was just told the viper/s will have EPS. Who knows….
Priced a VR1 850 turbo yesterday just for the hell of it…$24,800+tax freight, pdi etc. no accessories either. CAD dollars. Crazy price for a 2 stroke!
Hopefully Yamahas pricing isn’t out to lunch. I wouldn’t mind another viper, but really hoping for power steering on the viper this year and a...
I love these vipers, on my 3rd one. Would just be nice to see a smaller 4 stroke like a twin cylinder for the wife. I get it, don’t fix what isn’t broken…
This looks pretty cool! My current garmin Oregon 450 works great, but it’s always hard to see where you are or where your going without having to zoom in/out all the time. 5.5” screen might be a nice upgrade! Looks clean!
I was just looking at the stx and noticed it’s using the old spindles and a arms. I know they’re probably just using up old stock, but I would expect the newer arcs up front.
