That's the owners manual. Service manual is very different but has a few of the same things. Service manual has a ton more and is also more in depth and shows everything in an exploded diagram listing just about every part. It;s definitely good to have that owners manual though
Thanks Rock.
Once I put the carbs back on I'm confident there shouldn't be any leaks with the seals of the rubber housing to the carbs and engine. I used a tiny bit of fresh oil around the rubber and they slid right in to where they were before. I then let the sled run about 15 minutes and...
For the guys that have read some of my recent posts, I wanted to learn how to clean my carbs so I asked a lot of questions on here and eventually went for it. While taking the screws off the bowls I stripped 1 and had a hell of a time getting it out and broke one of the carb heater housings...
couldn't he have just went around it? I know there's probably water running under the sides also but atleast the hole isn't there yet like the spot he tried to go through. I passed one of these before and never thought twice that this could possibly happen. I learned something from this guys...
No wonder why I can't find my pilot screws. It's been driving me nuts bc the service manual shows them but on my carb theres just a flat gold looking tiny circle plate there. When you checked your screws were they to spec or were any of them off at all?...I'm not sure if I should just leave them...
That's what I used as a reference for my first time cleaning them. Fairly straight forward. I didn't take the entire rack off though. Removed air box and disconnected the hoses that needed to be and that were in the way. Then placed a long sheet under the rack covering the entire sled under the...
I'm glad I know how to clean them now. I did end up getting that stripped screw off and ended up gently tapping a small socket onto the deformed screw. It made a snug fit and one tiny turn and the screw was loose and out. The pilot in that carb was fully plugged too. So out of the 3 carbs 2...
I finally got the screw out. After looking at teh screw again it was so deformed from all the attempts that it looked like a socket could almost fit. So that's what I did. I found the closest size socket and gently tapped it with a hammer and it formed a nice fit. One small turn and the screw...
RS90NRL is the model name for the 2006 Nytros I believe.
Heres a link and it should be in there somewhere. You'll have to look through the sub sections till you find what you're looking for. I've bought parts from port yamaha also so they are a reputable company and believe they are a ty...
Thanks. In comparison to cleaning the carbs how hard or big of a project is it to sync the carbs? I know I need to buy a special tool to do it. Just wondering if its fraily easy and straight forward or a big deal.
in another topic in the engine section Len Todd said he cut the head of the screw right off which then seperates the carbs and then you can grab the remaining screw with needle nose and slowly unscrew it. I may first try the dremil and make 2 small marks and try with a flat head screw driver and...
I've just cleaned mine or in process still bc He's right about the screws. One of mine stripped really bad and they are very cheap. Not to hijack your post...
Todd I was thinking about buying a screw extractor kit. I do have a dremel with grinder on it so am I better off just cutting the head...
thanks gusy. I'll try needle nose vice grips and the screw extractor if that doesnt work. I'm determined to get this out. I was replacing them as soon as I get them out and then ran into the one screw giving me all the problems. Never fails, something that you think would be easy turns into a...
I stripped one screw while taking the bottom of the carb off for a cleaning. Out of the 12 screws just one stripped and it's really bad. I tried everything to get it off. I even tried using a rubber band for extra grip using a screw driver and also pliers hoping to just break the initial seal so...
Love my FXR backshift jacket and bibs. Never been cold or wet except for my hands and now I have the yamaheater and a medium windshield to solve that problem this year. I have the Bill Townsend boots which are awesome! feet never cold or wet either and great traction and they are extremely...
