I will date myself again back in the day an IAC valve used a stepper motor. So the coils would create a magnetic field to pull in the valve. And create a magnetic field in the opposite direction to pull out the valve. So has this changed. Is the Ecu sending opposing signals to make it move in...
Just a thought have you considered using a carbon cleaner to clean the pintle so it seats and seals. Might be worth a try. I feel your pain my GMC work van needed an IAC and I had to buy a complete throttle body. Although it was less than half of Yamahas price.
mysledblows: Thanks for the reply. I am a transplant from the Twin Cities 23 years. Before that I grew up in the Swamp. D.C. suburbs. Where I met my Wife. She made the mistake of bringing me to Northern Minnesota to meet her relatives. In 1982. For Christmas and New Years. I used to ride...
Lol! Steltski. I have only been in Deerwood 7 years. But every year my Wife and I make it a point to ride over to the Scorpion Homecoming on Serpent Lake. Although this year I would not cross any lake. Maybe Yamaha will stuff the Phazer 4 Stroke motor in a Blast chassis. We can only dream.
So sounds like you guys got the shaft. Lol. Interested in this problem because My Slingshot suspensions are killing my back. Thanks to this site I have been interested in the Procross chassis 4 Strokes. Yamaha or Cat. I feel your frustration as the Singleshot Suspension is a joke. Glad to hear...
I think you have a good point. Maybe the rear exit exhaust runs cooler. The heat is going up into the seat and chassis. Plus some cooling effect running over the tunnel. Might want to ceramic coat. Or wrap with header wrap like they use on hot rods.
I am showing my age. Just remembered 12mm wrench. The reason for recommending carbon cleaner might be because of carbon build up on the backside of the intake valves. The curved part.If you have this it soaks up fuel. Which can cause cold start problems. They used to pay us to blast the intake...
I miss the old days! Adjusting valves on Honda car engines once you removed the valve cover all you needed was a 10mm wrench ,Feeler gauge and a Flathead Screwdriver. Volkswagen was the first I believe to go to this shim cup method. I get that it saves space. No rocker arms. But I have to...
Thanks Steve! I know I can make the bearing last with the proper Lube. But I can't deal with what has been described here. I have had Crankshafts welded in the past. But I do not feel that is going to be effective on a hallow shaft. Obviously if Black Diamond makes a shaft then Cat and the...
So after reading all of this. Travis fix is great idea! But does the aftermarket make a solid shaft yet? Titanium etc. less rotating mass. I put a lighter clutch on my old modified Cat. It did make a difference. I geuss I should stop bithching about my Slingshot issues and deal with it. This is...
Being a Vikings Fan. I agree the Packers defense handed us our #*$&@. I just hope we beat the Saints because if you want to talk about cheaters look up Bountygate. I have no sympathy for the Saints. No bad feelings towards Drew Brees. But Brett Farve got his #*$&@ kicked in the NFC Championship...
Is the wear on these hollowshafts happening because they are hollow or is bearing seizure causing this? Interested because I am thinking of switching to the Rider Forward Cat design.
Welcome to this site. I changed the battery on my 2016 Vector recently. According to everybody on here should be the same Delta box chassis. All I had to do was remove the air box. Battery was under a plastic cover held on by a rubber strap. You will find this site very helpful. Best Snowmobile...
I would search track porting. It used to be advertised. By some track sellers. Their idea was for mountain riders to reduce weight. The Idea was less weight. Because the snow would fall out. Or spin out. Instead of collecting. In the rear of the sled. Not sure why it is not advertised now. But...
I used to always wear an open face HJC with goggles. Bright Yellow. She would say it does not match your sled. I did not care because I knew people could see me coming. Got her a Ski doo BV2S Modular heated shield. When she got the first Vector. When I got my Vector I started using her old Cat...
Just like the tires on your car. I would geuss your airshocks loose pressure when they cool off. Just food for thought. I have a M10 with titanium arms and rear spring on my 2001 Cat. Best suspension I have ever owned. Wish they made a 146 for my Vectors.
