Still getting oil in the air box

Sno-Xr, Nytro's do not use a separator like the Viper has, just a 5/8" hose from the oil tank to the air box on stock Nytro's. Bill

Vibrations in loose snow on the Viper MTX 162 -15

I stand corrected ;-) I know the 18's and latter have them, wasn't sure about the 17's.

Vibrations in loose snow on the Viper MTX 162 -15

Yes, they added the extra wheel when Cat/Yamaha went to a drop and rolled chain case and changed the rail profile on they're mountain sleds. I does help protect the front arm from track clip damage during suspension compression and I could see where it would help reduce vibration as well.;)! Bill

2015 vs 2016 MTX rear skid difference

The rails are different also. Not 100% sure on all the differences between the two rails, but I do know that the "hump" in the rail where the front arm attaches is higher/taller. This effectively moves the mounting point up and I assume would require a different length arm.

Desperate for Electrical Help Ignition Fuse Keeps Blowing(long read)

One thing to keep in mind about electronic short detectors, is that they search for magnetic fields caused by current flow. The thing that you have to watch out for is if there are any relays that are currently energized. Some of the tools will pick up an energized relay as a false signal due to...

lets hear it for the 2020 Viper

New plastics are nice. WAY easier/faster to pull the side panels and hood! New handle bar controls are kinda nice too.

    New Sled Help?

It has the newer mountain ski and they're are pretty good skis. For tuning the steering you can adjust the skid center shock spring preload. Tightening will reduce ski pressure but improve weight transfer. Loosening the spring will increase ski pressure and turning, but reduce weight transfer...

    Help getting skid back in

If you have a rear Float shock, you can let the air out of it. Also sometimes it's easier to install with the sled laying on it's side. I usually will put a piece of carpet down to help prevent scratching the side of the sled. You'll want to align and install the front arm bolts first, then the...

2018 Dropped and rolled chain case

It moves the drive axle down and back approx 1 1/4" The chain case is physically longer and uses a longer chain as well. Not sure on the gearing. The D+R makes a noticeable improvement in deep snow due to the better approach angle. Also it allows the use of 8 tooth drivers instead of 7 tooth...

    My nytro lemon.

You might check your main wiring harness for chaffing/shorting to ground. One spot in particular that I remember causing an issue is the small "nub" on the front motor mount, that would wear into the harness and cause a short to ground. On my old Nytro, I cut it off with hacksaw blade and filed...

    Lefty throttle

My buddy had one on his MTX and I have ran left hand throttles on my last 3 sleds. My buddy didn't use his much on his Mountain lite because they are pretty easy to lay over and carve with. I use mine a fair amount as I have a medical condition in my right hand so they are a big help for me...

Viper/7000 ROV kit with magnetic tether switch.

I have just a couple on hand for the ROV kits. Are you looking for the magnetic tether only or are you looking to add one to an existing ROV kit that's already on your sled? Bill

Viper/7000 ROV kit with magnetic tether switch.

I have been receiving a few requests to build Sidewinder ROV kits with Cat's new magnetic tether switch. Since I have a couple more switches in stock, I decided to build a Viper/7000 ROV kit with the magnetic tether as well! Please PM or email me if your interested.

Shock comparison xtx to mtx rear?

Not 100% sure but they could be different lengths. I know Cat/Yamaha made some rail changes in 2016 and the shock transfer link rod are different part numbers. Your shock still may work though if it's close enough in length to your old shock.

Confusion on tether / rollover kit

2008lee is correct about the ROV function. Also new for this season, I added the oil pump re-prime (quick prime) switch to premium version Phazer/Nytro ROV kit. It's the same set up as found on the Viper and Sidewinder ROV kits. The quick prime function allows you to re-prime the oil pump by...

    Rear tunnel question

I had those gussets off before when I did a CF tunnel extension swap on my 7000. When I did mine, there was enough flex in the running board that I could wiggle them out once you drill out the rivet(s);)!

Help with fox float 3 evol

Basically you are correct, main chamber for ride height and quality and the EVOL for bottom out resistance. Typically you will get your best ride and most usable shock travel when the EVOL chamber is approx 40% more then whats in your main chamber. For example say that you have 60 psi in the...

    Hand warmer stopped working

Yeah, it looks like your on the right track the Yellow is for testing further upstream in the harness. Green= common or ground Green/white is low heat with approx 14 ohmns resistance (between Green and Green/White) Green/Blue is high heat with approx 7 ohmns resistance (between Green and...

    Hand warmer stopped working

There is a left and right element due to the shape of the element and where the wires are attached. The element has a self adhesive backing on it and fits on the bar a specific direction due to the hook on the end of the bar. The Cat element should be the same as the Yamaha unit. Not 100% sure...
