Still have my Phazer - have had a few offers to trade it. Almost did for a 2009 Polaris RMK but did not. Now have a possible buyer but just may end up keeping it in the end.
I have a 2007 Yamaha Phazer FX 500 and I am looking for a sled that I can sit a little lower on and have a bit more power. I have been proposed a trade for a 2004 Arctic Cat Sabercat 700 EFI LX. Are these good sleds? This unit has 5500km on it and my Phazer has 4000km on it. The Phazer is a...
In everything I have ever owned I have always topped off the fuel and stabilized it and ran it through the engine. Boats, Seadoo and now sleds. I have never had a problem as long as the fuel tank is full. From my understanding is that people who have problems with old fuel is because they...
OK well today I had to put my sleds away for the season. I have some work to do on them and they are being stored on concrete, covered of course. I was wondering I have the tracks sitting on 2 x 8's as well as the skis sitting on 2 x 8's. Would my track be OK as is or am I better to lift the...
When I bought my Phazer one thing that was missing was the button to switch from Low to Hi on the headlights. I could switch it by pushing something into the hole. I now have a new button to install but am not sure how to do it. Dealer said just push it in and it should work. It does not...
I also agree on the fuel pump relay - top row of relays second from the back on the right hand side in behind the battery. I was also having this same problem when it was really cold. I have ordered an updated relay through the dealer, but also bought a second regular one and swap them out if...
Yamaha dealer did not have any updated relays in stock - said he would order me one. When I asked him how much - he said between $40 and $60? Is that what they are really worth? I am finding this dealer to be very expensive.
does anyone know what relay it is of the two that are available? Dealer never got back to me today. Does anyone know of an aftermarket one that I could pick up - say at Napa or any auto parts store?
heading through the city tomorrow and will pick up another relay. This idea of insulating does intrigue me. Does anyone else have any thoughts or ideas on how one would go about doing this? What about using that bubble wrap stuff that looks like tinfoil on one side?
I think I had the same problem as you - but today after running it for awhile it seemed to free up a lot as everything around the engine compartment got warmer and the snow and ice melted.
Are these relays only available from the dealer? Or are they a standard off the shelf relay? I see on the Yamaha parts breakdown there are two relays 5DM-81950-00-00 and 8FP-81950-01-00. Do you know which one this would be?
I have the issue where the relay freezes and I have to put the hair drier to it so it will allow the fuel pump to run. If I want to replace that relay which one is it? Can I buy that relay anywhere or do I have to get it from a dealer? I am a newbie at this so go easy on me. I have had to do...
I have both of these sleds and I am wondering why the SRX is so easy to steer and the Phazer is harder to steer. Is there anything I can do to my Phazer to make it steer as easy as my SRX?
