MCX 180 install question??? Nytro XTX

Install the oilpump temporarily without the sheerpin and the o-ring, thread it in and see if you have removed enough, that`s what I would do if I felt unsure on how much to grind off. I was also scared when I did this, felt that I removed too much, but it was all good.

MCX 180 install question??? Nytro XTX

Don`t go any longer then necessary, but be sure to go long enough! :) You wount make a hole in the cover if you grind lets say 1mm too deep. I have never tried grinding through one so I dont know but if it was critical the installation instructions would have told you to be very careful.

Mcx Nytro 180 burning oil and smoking

Hmm ok. I guess blowing air through them will do, if you put your mouth to it you should able to blow through them without any problems. I guess you only have to check the line that goes to the pump and the one that goes to the MCX plenum. Check if your banjo plugs somehow can be...

Mcx Nytro 180 burning oil and smoking

Just so you know you can make a new sheer pin of a 3mm drill bit. Just cut it to a suitable length and you are good to go. (Erik Marklund told me this, so it is safe!) What is your milage with turbo? A friends Phazer did the same when the sheer pin called it the day. I bet its the...

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

Hey, does anyone know if there is a boost gauge that shows total KPA pressure? Atmospheric pressure + boost pressure = total pressure.

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

Got another mail from Erik today. He still seems negative to the manual boost controller and sais that I should reprogram the TCV altitude compensation. Dimebag: I recall you saying something about that the TCV actually isnt able to function properly at our altitudes / it isnt able to sense...

Help! Loosing boost at high altitudes!

Great! Awesome! I hope it`s OK now! Was the bolt still in it`s hole or had it moved out of it? Are the threads totally shot?

    drivehaft bearing position

Aha, install both driveaxle bearings, you can install everything in the chaincase but leave the cover off. Now press the driveshaft towards the chaincase and make sure it is in place (you should feel it stop). Now tighten the setscrews on the bearing. If the driveaxle wount stay properly...

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

Just so you know, at one time last year I saw 6,5 psi, where I have my warning light set. This was at about 500m. Is the TCV unstabile?

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

Hi guys! I got my Grimmspeed boost controller and it looks sweet! Next episode: CROSSROADS hehe, Erik Marklund tells me to adjust the MCX to get the boost levels correct and that he doesnt see any benefits of installing a manual controller. Have anyone tried re-programming the MCX...

Adjusting boost level when using stock TCV valve MCX 180

Hi guys! Yesterday I got my Grimmspeed manual boost controller and it looks awesome. I really look forward to trying this out. However, I did ask Erik Marklund what his thoughts were and he said that he couldnt see any benefits of installing a manual boost controller cause the TCV should...

Help! Loosing boost at high altitudes!

E-mail Erik Marklund at info@mcx.se and tell him what is happening. If you have no air leaks then I think it has to be the MCX box, or the TCV. I wish I had more knowledge on this system. As far as I know the MCX box changes the fuel map and also tells the TCV how boost it should run...

    track shaft bearings .

If you have 9700km on the bearing I would replace it, it is not much work at all. The lower left shroud must be removed, it makes it easier to work, then loosen the setscrews on the bearing-collar on the inside of the tunnel. Now loosen the 6 screws on the metal plates that holds the...

    drivehaft bearing position

Put the axle in the chassis without the bearing, when the axle is in place and still loose on both sides, slide the bearing and the metal plates in place, put the 6 screws in, just thread them in loosely. Then install the bearing-housing with the three screws on the chaincase side and tighten...

Help! Loosing boost at high altitudes!

I don`t have experience with charge air leaks but I do know that the rivets in the tunnel behind the charge air cooler will often touch the cooler, combine it with some vibration and it will eventually make a hole in your cooler. When I mounted my cooler I put some paint on all the rivets and...

Help! Loosing boost at high altitudes!

If the hose from or to the TCV has a leak it would make your boost pressure higher, not lower.

Help! Loosing boost at high altitudes!

Since the wastegate seemed fine (do you have the drain hole drilled in it? To avoid it freezing up?) It could be either the TCV valve or the MCX box, or maybe their connectors. Does anyone know if the TCV valve is able to set the boost to 0PSI or is the base-pressure the lowest it can go...

Dry Ice with oilite bushing instal

x 2 on srxperts advice. Just take your time and make sure they enter evenly. If the edges in the A-arm are very sharp the oilites can tend to jam/enter uneven. Often it will be ok just to keep tightening and eventually it will straighten up but try to get them as straight as possible from...

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

Interesting reading LSXM3, thanks for replying. Dimebag, agree, would be cool to know what values the "stock" upgraders are seeing :). Lying in bed last night I kept thinking about this and I came up with some theories that I would like to get confirmed or "busted" , hehe. I do lack...

    AFR with MCX 180 - 190+ ?

OK I see.. interesting. So logically the AFR should be lower the more boost you run. Lets say that you were boosting at 7psi and had 12.5 in AFR. If you then got a new mapping/jets (more fuel and a richer mixture) wouldnt the AFR go down? Or? Then you would have to increase the boost to...
