Hole is tapped thru one side of shaft.
It is possible threads could get egged out, but there is not much force on the set screw as long as bearing is good.
I don't think that will happen, but I guess that is possible, but set screw fit pretty snug in there.
Driveshaft is approximately 3/16 to 1/4" thick at bearing area
No pics of screw, sorry! Mine is a set screw that I hand ground the end to fit slot in bearing.
I made slot in bearing with a 1/8" diamond bit on my roto zip, definitely need water to cool bit.
Turn set screw in or out 1/2 turn with allen wrenches to adjust height, possibly need to regrind/...
17 winder, 6300 miles.
Doing spring (summer) maintenance and found a bunch of slop in driveshaft and bearing. Ordered new shaft and bearing.
I was planning on having shaft repaired for a spare, but it is also wore pretty bad at outer brake rotor snap ring groove, which made it tough getting...
I had 9" shapers on my razors with 160lb spring from cannondale, they were still hard to steer at times but worked ok in soft corners.
Switched to sno trackers semi aggressive, night and day better! I would not say they are perfect, but steering is light and predictable.
I made some tunsten weights out of 5mm rod, from ebay. Cut them to length with diamond wheel and dremel.
Just had to have set screws on both sides to capture them in. To remove just remove set screw and rotate clutch to bottom and they would drop out.
1/4" = 2.7g
Don't be afraid to try lower pressures, if you want it to handle good. I accidentally set mine with sled weight on them to 60 lbs, it handled alot better.
