Can you please clarify where they rode in the Gogebic area? There are a lot of reports I’m finding about closed trails due to logging, and other very poor conditions around Lake Gogebic. Thanks.
I’ve had that issue on my turbo sled. Once in a great while the ECU doesn’t fully power down. That prevents it from starting. The only fix is to take the negative battery cable off to force the ECU to shut down. If you are turbo’d you can tell if this happens by looking at the GEMS. If the ECU...
Not for slider wear - The procross chassis is great for sliders. I need it for temperature on those warm days, or when the trail is so hard that the track won't through up any cooling. Turbos build heat quickly when cooling is limited. Ran last year on a day when the temp was 50 deg F and the...
Looking for other options on ice scratchers ... specifically for a 129"
I've had the cable type in the past. They work OK and I'll go back to this as a last resort. I've more recently had the wire/spring type. And I really liked these because they are relatively cheap, and they work awesome...
Have a Triton TC-167. It's 16' long by 7' wide, single axle, no brakes. Weighs only 1000lbs empty. Towing with my 2010 GMC Sierra with 5.3L and 3.08 gears. Tows great when loaded and so far has met all my needs. A great trailer for only a couple sleds. I like this over an 8' wide for two...
Just an update on my intake .... I've gotten a couple hundred miles on the setup now and everything is working great. AFRs are still the same so I haven't changed any settings on the GEMs. If the AFRs have changed, it's too small of a change for me to notice. Watching the intake air temp...
I ran a 1.5 on that sled. You will want to pull the tunnel protectors. But you will have about 1/8" clearance to the front cooler protectors if my memory is right.
Those '06 Nytros had an issue with warping idler wheels. I remember Yamaha sent out a TSB on them, I think anyway. But I remember the same thing happening on mine. At the time Yamaha replaced them with a solid plastic wheel with no rubber on the outside. Regardless .... warped idlers on an '06...
Stumbled across this. Full set of Ohlins shocks for an FX Nytro XTX. Looks like the ones that came on the Europe spec FX Nytro TTX. Never saw a set of these in the US. Looks like a good deal for someone to jump on...
Yes, XTX is different. The RTX and LTX models use the sliding front torque arm. As part of the design, there is a shaft that is mounted across the tunnel where the front of the suspension is normally hard-mounted. The sliding front torque arm slides against that shaft. The XTX doesn't have...
A case of beer ....... LOL!!!!
Honestly, I don't use a weight. I tension mine to where the top of the inner lugs are about even with the bottom side of the hyfax. I'm assuming that to be pretty close and seems to work well. Others may have different methods that work for them.
Edit for...
I didn't break my upper cross shaft, but I have bent the lower center shock mount shaft - twice. This fall I noticed small cracks in the tunnel where the upper cross shaft mounts. I turned it in for warranty and was declined. Yamaha said it was 'cosmetic'. What a bunch of crap!! So I made...
Me - 2015 SR Viper RTX SE w/ MPI turbo and stock 24/50 gearing.
Brother - 2017 Polaris 800 Switchback 137 Pro-S which is all stock
Had a couple half-assed attempts at a race on a rail grade this past weekend. But it didn't really tell much. My Viper isn't really setup for drag racing as I...
Great trip this weekend! The White House Motel was more than hospitable, bar across the street was great and breakfast at Slim's was very good. Snow depths and trail conditions were probably the best I've seen in a long time for this early TY ride. And as always, thanks to MrSled for...
I'm not a big fan of the Apex. But I whereas I will agree that the Apex has had updates and improvement, the problem is that those were spread over a 10 year span. Yamaha has got to get better at bringing improvements and updates at a much faster rate. This is what will bring people into the...
