My buddies 800 poo will be tough to beat, he's running a can, mid pipe and clutch kit from bikeman performance, should be interesting.

Modz for this year will be 21/41 gears and afr/boost gauge to regain some decent fuel economy while cruising.
Then if i get used to this new found power, evo flash to get rid off rev limiter, heads studs but no shim, regulated return fuel pump and crank boost up to 7psi for about 230hp.

Taken a 800 poo on the lake , no problem !
Race rules: start on the lake 100 foot from shore. Race across lake to shoreline then proceed up through the wooded hillside to the top then back down half way and a immediately uturn and back up to the top then back down the hill to the starting point on the ice. I will give the poo a head start even.
I enjoy Coors or Molson.
Lets race!

Me - 2015 SR Viper RTX SE w/ MPI turbo and stock 24/50 gearing.

Had a couple half-assed attempts at a race on a rail grade this past weekend. But it didn't really tell much. My Viper isn't really setup for drag racing as I have the coupler blocks pulled out for more weight transfer. Off the line on every race, I had to back out of the throttle. My skis were at least a foot off the ground and I was either headed towards the woods, or into my brother's path. So that doesn't really tell me much. We did have one drag that was somewhat decent. After getting out of the throttle (again!) I got it to settle in and go straight. But after getting out of the throttle, he was a bit over a sled length ahead of me. But now with full throttle in a straight line, I was able to put the power down. We didn't get a real full pull to top speed like we would have done going across a lake. But I was catching him. Although we only ran it up to about 80mph or so. I think I would have run out of gear before I fully caught up to him though.
But here's what I think in my scenario. If I get a good holeshot, I've got it made. The only way he will get me is if we have a long enough run where he can get me on top speed. My sled simply isn't setup to run much over 100mph. But if I blow the holeshot, that Poo is one hard sled to run down.

800 polaris won't even run with a apex on a lake so you should not have a problem

My dad just bought a 2018 Assault 800, it pulls real hard from 0-80 but then levels off. I don’t know what gears are in the Assault but I think they’re on the lower side. I think you’ll be very close at the beginning, if you have enough room I think your turbo will creep away from him past that 70-80mph mark, so make sure you line up somewhere that allows your turbo to run flat out for a bit.
