Running semi's on an XTX and looking for more bite. Can I just get the deeper carbides to convert to aggressives? Are the correctors the same for each style?
Been wanting to try a Viper for quite a while. Still haven't found a compelling deal on a used one 10 years into it. Years of pushing a mouse around a foam pad leave me unprepared for an off-trail stuck & buried situation. Today I was straining to position my Apex XTX for entry into the trailer...
Sounds like you are happy with overall performance of your 973. If you want more throttle response I'm not sure this kit you're considering is the best direction. You could drop the gear ratio for a lot less. Also consider selling it and buying a 2010 or later with the 1049 EFI. All the 2-smoke...
I normally lean towards keeping things stock but this doesn't look too risky. Even if it delivers 100% on promise this only makes you competitive with the era's 700's. Still not going to take an Apex or 800 2-smoke. Do you have a buddy on a 600 you need to surprise?
For entertainment purposes only. (I love my Yamahas!)
To timidly go where everyone has already been
Ask not what Yamaha can build for you, but what Cat can build for Yamaha
The only thing we have to fear is Ski-Doo
This is not a lack of inspiration. It's a Special Decal Operation.
Let’s not...
I ordered some foam to raise my Apex's seat a bit and will follow up with a 2.5" handlebar riser. I'm in pretty deep I know but can't resist trying to perfect the sled I already own. The last sled I pre-ordered was an '05 Vector. It wasn't a mistake. The sled never let me down in 13 years of...
The Thundercat name carries a lot of baggage - it's meant many different things over the years. Sidewinder is a new name and only means one thing to people. What you call something matters.
The Cat CTEC 2 has Intake and exhaust on the same side of the engine. No way any current Yamaha 4-stroke is gonna fit (where it should) in the Catalyst. Now if Yamaha came out with a new 4-stroke that could lay down low like it should, I'd sell the farm to own one. This is the one possible...
Maybe we can get this to 100 pages post release if everyone chimes in on their disappointment! Regardless, they'll sell every sled they can get Cat to make for them so there's no downside, no risk, no waisted effort looking at it from the corporate side. A relationship like this could drag on...
Hah! No, It's not doing wheelies or anything. I just like a planted sled. Thanks for the tips so far guys. Bringing her into the garage in the next week or two for a look over.
2016 Apex X-TX. Looking to reduce ski lift coming out of corners and general acceleration cases. Already tightened limiter 1 position and added a little more ski pressure. Downloaded the manual and all it shows is info on adjusting the shock air pressure.
Lack of employees can be resolved with higher wages which in turn causes higher sled prices. Nevermind! I'll continue to buy used once the product establishes a solid reputation. Not going to be a test pilot without appropriate compensation.
