You should have SLP in your list if "So I guess I'm looking for a ski that's going to do most to close of everything well. " I've run all the skis you mentioned in your original post except Kimpex and SLP ski's are my hands down favorite for many reasons. Mohawks or SLT's are great do it all...
I’ve never used dual carbides on SLP Skis or found a reason to. Check your ski alignment and try reducing the ski pressure. All versions of SLP skis are pretty dart free with single carbides and a good setup. I’ve had Powder Pro‘s in the past. They are more aggressive than SLT or Mohawks so...
Incredible pricing! Who would pay almost 3k more for the Sidewinder unless blue and red are worth a few grand to someone? Ha! I wasn't in the market for a new sled this year but the Cat pricing has me thinking otherwise. I paid more years ago for various sleds. Like you said, the warranty...
I wouldn't be surprised if that's a typo and it's the same map.
I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to the new flash feedback besides some still have issues and some don't. I haven't got it yet. Don't some with the new flash claimed they thought it felt stronger?
Yep. That is hilarious. We didn’t have any issues with the latest flash except the sometimes two attempts during a cold start, but I will definitely get the newest.
Here are a couple photos of the muffler mod without shields since I had a few people requesting them. You can’t see what was really done besides the few holes drilled when looking down inside. The two plates welded on the outside are where they went inside to work on the intervals.
I sent it out to Excell and they did it. Recommend to me by Ulmer since he was too busy to do one for me. I can get some pics once I pull the heat shields and get a better look for leaks hopefully next week or so.
Good to know. I didn't look at the diagrams but assumed they didn't list heat shield rivets. I'll look.
I went with the modded muffler for the reason you mentioned. Had been running aftermarket for years but got a ticket. No complaints with it so far. It's on my wife's sled. I usually ride it...
Anyone know what rivets work well and are stock appearing on the heat shields? I've got a stock modified muffler we ran this year that seemed really hot on the last ride and some more popping than usual getting of the gas. Just want to open it up and make sure nothing's starting to come apart or...
That looks closer than on our 7000. I seem to remember a few of the 7000's being that way but never heard it being a widespread issue or the cause.
Are you running the D&D big dog weights with their helix and torsional secondary spring? Which gram weights? stock exhaust? what rpm? Should not...
Since the reflash was done in the off season, I would say ours has been starting with one attempt on the first start of the day about 50% of the time this season. I don't wait for the pump to cycle though I usually did with the old flash. I'd say it's more likely to need 2 attempts in the...
That's ballsy. I'd swap it out for at least another with that mileage if you want to keep running that track. I always cringe running those speeds on my Turbo cat with half those miles on my 1.6. I love the track overall but it would be swapped out if I was racing a lot.
Had the same...
It's not the skis and I don't think tuners will work better. I never used Tuners on this chassis but did on our old Vector. Make small changes and make sure you ride it more than just one ride.
You can try the leading edge which they recommend for more nose heavy sleds (4-strokes) but I never...
It's probably just your suspension set up. They should work very well without having to use dually carbides. I would reduce pressure on the Skis and experiment some more. Back off front ski spring preload a bit and try tightening front skid shock a little at a time. I would use at least 6"...
I've run a lot of miles on Curves and Mohawks. Ditched the Curves and been running Mohawks for several years now. They are both great skis but I prefer the Mohawks.
That's weird. Been running an Excell modded stock muffler this season and didn't lose much more than 100 rpm over the Sandale it replaced. Prior to that I had ran a MBRP and also a Straightline muffler. Everything I've run has been 8900-9000 with the same clutching. Stock sled with only...
