True, but I'm not saying thinner is a solution to leaking. There is just no need for it to be that thick. Thinner might have a little more give but I noticed that thick gasket just takes up more room with no benefit. I've used a bunch of exhaust and in some cases the thicker gasket, combined...
It's too thick. There is no benefit to it being that thick. I switched to a thinner copper gasket. If anyone wants a cheap muffin works version, send me a pm.
I haven't used the Ulmer muffler built by straightline, but I did try straight lines own version (which I'm not sure how different it is from the Ulmer version) and it didn't seem any more quiet, if not louder at low and part throttle. I'm still using the Sandale.
I agree completely except they haven't said 180 hp besides 180 hp "class". That leaves the door open. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that supposed top speeds or hp is down on production models. On the other hand, first year sleds could be rockets compared to the 2nd year. Any cheerleading...
You had a big turd or some very bad tuning. The new motor looks promising but I can't give up my reliable boosted Cat turbo for the first model year of the new Turbo. I know I would have regrets. I hope the new one is a reliable rocket as opposed to the usual new model hype. Not thrilled with...
I can't stand Ski-Doo but I don't know if I can agree with that. They have a new 2-smoke doing 165 hp on what I would guess is a much lighter chassis.... seeing that Yamaha is not releasing weight or actual hp numbers..... and releasing a sled a new technology turbo 4-stroke that appears to have...
Good point. Agreed. And for the guys that bleed blue only jumping up and down excited thinking Cat was not involved with the Sidewinder.....directly from Yamaha literature...
" Another important factor to acknowledge is the Yamaha relationship with Arctic Cat. Their world class engineering team...
I highly doubt it will top speed an Apex in stock form. Almost guarantee it at under 200hp. It will be quicker though. Look at the top speeds on this chassis and all the other tall rider forward sleds. Top speeds were higher in late 90's and early 2000 muscle sleds...which basically the apex is o_O
At least someone has some very important questions. ;)! My guess is, that if there was a new chaincase, they would be bragging about it. I don't see that. :dunno:
I'm not shocked at the pricing. Last years Cat Turbo RR which comes with the best shock package offered was 16.2 k USA MSRP. It's insane what sleds cost these days especially considering the quality from EVERY manufacturer for the money spent.
I think it will make more Yamaha guys happy than Cat guys. Yamaha hasnt offered similar turbo power before. If it's 180-190 hp without much weight loss and the same chaincase it would not seem to be much of a step up from the old Cat turbo that's been available for 8 years, that can be modified...
