I've got a sandale muffler on my xtx, I love it but I'm finding it a bit to loud on the multi day trips.
How are the straight line muffler compared to the sandale?

I haven't used the Ulmer muffler built by straightline, but I did try straight lines own version (which I'm not sure how different it is from the Ulmer version) and it didn't seem any more quiet, if not louder at low and part throttle. I'm still using the Sandale.

For my sandale its the part throttle I find too loud. Just when crusing like 80-100km-hr
Have a look at the GGB units. We just became a dealer. Really nice stuff.

How loud are they, I'm trying to find something with the same weight savings and but a bit quieter then my sandale, even if I lose 1-2 hp
Here is a comparison sound clip. GGB to stock.

That's what I'm seeing so far.Sounds as loud as all the others out there. I have not heard a quiet after market can yet.
Trying a modded stock can from Ulmer next. Noise is subjective. So just mine and riding buddies opinion but stock system is the quietest. Adding any can increases noise. Adding a can and a header can really make it loud to others but performance increases for sure. Been a tough road to get it all.

I definitely want it louder then stock, I like the noise at idle and wot but at cruising for 3-4 days straight it gets old.
I'm a welder by trade I might need to tear up my stock muffler and gut it out.

I don't think that would work since I have a intercom in my helmet.
