UPDATE. I got out for a ride today and the speedo is now bang on what it should be. It takes Yamaha a while but they do step up when pressured.

UPDATE. I took the sled in to the dealer today. They ran the VIN and it revealed that the only update that it had been given was the one for the reverse detent. The dealer said that it needed two more updates.... one for the speedo inaccuracy and one for the starter kickback issue. They took it...
