UPDATE.
I took the sled in to the dealer today. They ran the VIN and it revealed that the only update that it had been given was the one for the reverse detent. The dealer said that it needed two more updates.... one for the speedo inaccuracy and one for the starter kickback issue. They took it directly to the shop to do the updates. I realized that I knew the technician when it went into the shop so he invited me in to see what they did. At that time he informed me that the fix for starter kickback and speedo were now one procedure and so he then did that on the machine. After the reflash, the machine now starts on the first try and the idle speed at operating temperature has gone from 2300 rpm's down to a nice even 1500 rpm's. I'm really happy with this as it always took 2 attempts to start it before the reflash. I haven't had a chance to check the speedo as it is melting the little bit of snow that we have here at this time but the technician was confident that the speedo issue was now corrected as well. Thanks to all for their input.

Yup. I had this reflash. Mine is off too. About 15-20 mph. I’ve been dealing with this for a little over a year. Glad I’m not the only person.

UPDATE. I got out for a ride today and the speedo is now bang on what it should be. It takes Yamaha a while but they do step up when pressured.
