Not sure, but I've been on this site for about 8 years and when people have charging problems, its usually the stator. And usually the stator is screwed from starter kickback. I'd get the sled to a dealer to see if it has had the flash. It's free and they can tell if it has had it just from the...
Does anyone know if the newer plastics from the Viper are the same as the Cat? Even some of them? It would make it easier to find some. There were so many more Vipers sold, and I would consider black or grey, if that is all I can find.
You think the hood harness would be plug and play? The headlight is listed at $460! That's a lot in Canadian $ for sure! Any idea if its the same as the Viper headlight? That would make it easier to find.
I agree that mine is a nice looking sled, but I'd thought about just going all black...
So I've been looking at a microfiche back and forth between my 2014 and the 2019. It looks like the plastics should work. Side panels, skidplate assemblies look like they'll fit. It starts to get complicated at the hood, specifically the instrument assemblies. If I can run my older headlight and...
Thanks, the parts supplier I was looking at didn't have the newer parts on the microfiche. Babbitts does. I'll have to see what it would take to convert. Looks like besides the panels, I might need a different airbox? Not sure. I wonder if the pyramid structure is the same.
Of course it would...
I've been doing a little looking and for the Cat, it looks like all the newer plastic is only on the 2 strokes. So I doubt I can make them fit. Probably easier on the Viper. Too bad, the side panels look smooth.
I love how the newer model's panels open up with a quarter turn, and it would make the sled look new. Not sure how the panels attach to the chassis, but I doubt it would take a lot to convert. Not sure about the cost though.
I have a 2014 XF7000 and absolutely love the sled. I can't see buying the same sled a few years newer when I have mine working so well! I've seen where some people have updated their Vipers to newer style body panels. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the Cats and is it possible...
Yes you did! I caught mine before it came apart like that. I just want to strengthen mine so that doesn't happen. I saw some awesome pics that I'd like to use as a template.
I searched last night, but couldn't find the thread that shows pics of some of the swingarms that guys here have added gussets. I plan on welding mine up, but gussets are obviously in order! Directions to the appropriate thread would be a great help, thanks.
So, after I tipped mine, I pulled the vent hose and primed the pump. It worked like a charm and I was able to drive it with no issues. To be sure, I checked the oil and it was low. It ended up losing 600ml. That's a lot! Like I said, the oil light wasn't on so I'd be interested in knowing how...
I think the sled is okay, bent the hand guard mount a bit. But it landed on my gas auger... I'll probably just bring a small jug of oil in the truck just in case. I'm going icefishing this weekend and won't put more than a couple of km on it.
