I don't know if anyone has talked about this or knows but Yamaha finally has a fix out for people with sleds that won't start well below -20C its a new CDI box and different decompression springs. Hopefully this works cuz it doesn't look good having to get a boost when all you two smoke buddies...
don't be afraid to close the hole in the tunnel, makes life much nicer and there are no ill side effects, and i ran mine in the mountains at +10C. everything was fine.
there is no torsion springs in the kit, just the link and hardware to install, jsut had my second one put in. I am looking for after market torsion springs, cuz mine flat out suck.
guys the parts have been out for over amonth, there is pics of them on here. there's no use whinning about a bad link, its just a little problem. Every one has there problems, if thats the worst that happens to mine i'd be happy, and i am happy. It seems like somoetimes we think because its...
It will definately soften up quit a bit, back all your spring tension off, and turn you damping down. I run mine cranked right tight but I also weigh 210 clothed. And even at that I've ordered a spring for the front arm shock out of a 440 race sled that will fit. Mine was stiff to start with...
How many miles are on the sled, they do soften up quite a bit once they get broke in. Other then that you need to realize it is an FX, it was designed to take the bigger hits and be jumped. Its going to be rough just riding along hitting stutter bumps and little stuff. Thats why there is the...
If you go and look at the other post about the rear suspension I described the new parts in there. If you do get the updated parts I don't believe you will break them. That link is a billet aluminium block and the torque arm is gusseted up nicely. You should be happy.
Hey Dave, I don't have the part #'s put hound your dealer cuz the parts are out there and they are good. I pounded the heck out of my rear skid this weekend and everything is good. Tell them to get a hold of there warranty guy, he will no about it. Don't get to discouraged, its a first year...
Yamaha has addressed the issue and the new parts are out. My dealer got a shipment of the new parts yesterday. They are some really nice heavy parts, the new link is a billet piece and the front arm is very reinforced. Parts look good, go check with your dealer it will be a full factory...
That would be great if you could verify that dave, because right now the actual phazer parts are extremely back ordered here, and we've got 2 sleds down waiting for parts.
Thats good to hear that they are working on updated parts. Just left the dealer with a new link robbed from an in stock sled. They got a hold of the warranty rep and he informed them that there is a problem with these parts. Finally this is no longer just me wrecking them like they were...
You're probably right, I should change my avatar considering I have been riding like a pussy because I'm always afraid of it breaking. The worst part about it and I really hate to admit this is that the '04 F7 SP is still running with 2800miles, and never had a broken suspension piece. And...
Broke that same link for the second time this weekend, then buddies sled broke same link 5 miles after mine. This link is obviously way to week. I ride this sled for a 100 miles at a time and then take it back to the dealer for a week. This sled has been in the shop for 5 weeks this season...
I still have my F7 with the 1.375" track and IMO it is one of the best tracks out. I absolutely love it, it hooks up great, does awesome in deep snow, and is extremely tough. Mine has 3000miles of abuse and still looks perfect. I think you will really like that conversion.
You absolutely cannot put a 15" wide track in there, one I put my freeride on the dealer sent me with a 15" and I wasn't paying attention, took everything apart and tried to put it in, and there is no way it would fit. The bulk head can only handle a 14" track.
Which linkage actually broke, the one between the front and rear shock in the rear suspension? Also did you have the rear coupling blocks removed on the rear arm of the suspension?
Just a little heads up hear, I've had mine removed almost since new, and I have been having trouble with stuff breaking in the skid. The latest is the front arm in the rear suspension completely broke apart at the bottom tube where it is bolted into the rails. There is no other damage to the...
A little something to watch with this kit is that it puts upward pressure on the springs where they go through the plastic blocks on the rail. On mine it has broke the block.
