Yes I know the track is 14" but still there is room to move the wheel 2-3 mm I think. It's just to machine off the spacers.

So why not install a 15 wide Camoplast Intense Powder track ? I was told by my dealer that it should fit, and this track has even better lugs than the Freeride, plus it's a more common track, therefore less $$$...

A 15" wont fit. The tunnel is too narrow!

The tunnel is quite narrow in the front, it would be a tight fit to install a 15" track. Would maybe be a danger of the track rubbing in the front tunnel frame if not properly centered.
The Freeride isn't really much more expensive than other tracks.

Had to cut some more of the rails. Now they just fit with as little clearance as possible to the drivers
The first cut along the red line was way off. Then I cut the green line.
I have now cut off about 25-30 mm of the rails (measured at the front of the rails) and about 5 mm off the front of the plastic protector (and a lot at the rear of them).
I also cut 5 mm off the slider runners.
Not enough space for the front protectors after first cut.
Much better after second cut:
Second cut in progress:
Comparing stock rails with the shorter ones (yes, I have to drill another hole):
Not much left of the plastic protectors:

Yes I really would have liked to having known about how much to remove from rails while I had the skid out of the sled. Would have saved me some trouble.
I tried to ask around but the only answer I got was 10 mm.... What I didn't think of or know was that he didn't use the front plastic protectors at all
Regarding pics: The Sony-Ericsson K800i is a good thing to have in my pocket ;-) (I have added some comments above the pics).

The Freeride track is at least $100 more new, maybe even closer to $200, and the track pattern on the intense powder is quite a bit more aggressive and better suited for powder riding, that's why I was inquiring on the 15 wide. Hopefully next year, Camoplast comes out with more track options for this sled !

You can check out what track options that was on polaris prox 440 year 2004 because they also use 14" wide track. I also think that arctic cat used this 14" track x 121" on one of theyr zr440 models. Dont remember what year..

You absolutely cannot put a 15" wide track in there, one I put my freeride on the dealer sent me with a 15" and I wasn't paying attention, took everything apart and tried to put it in, and there is no way it would fit. The bulk head can only handle a 14" track.

I paid $395 for my 14" free-ride track shipped to my door.

I was lucky and only paid exactly twice as much, but shop retail price is three times as much here in Norway (about $1200)
