It does push evenly and is very easy to use for anyone. Once the tool is assembled, you can open the clutch with a few turns of the wrench and it stays open while you remove the old belt.
You are correct that the stock bolt is replaced by bolt B. The stock bolt is an aluminum alloy but the replacement is a grade 8.8 steel bolt so it can be left in place permanently. Use the same torque specs as the stock bolt.

I had the Ice Ripper XT installed on my '07 at 9800 KM. The original track was the 1.25 Ripsaw studded with 96 up the middle. The XT is still in great shape and the sled has over 23000Km. My adult son is now riding it.
The performance of the track is comparable to the 96 stud pattern but...
