Does anyone make a tool to help open up the secondary for quicker belt removal,or for more painfree operation lol its when you have a lot of twist, that it becomes an issue.

Anyone come up with one working for Shockwave, the green arctic spring makes the white-white from yamaha feel like nothing.

Or maybee do one selfe.

Havent tried it myself but guys with other makes just remove the secondary to get belt off and on. Just one bolt.

I have made a Belt Change Tool for Yamahas that will hold the secondary sheave open for you. This makes changing the belt much easier and quicker, especially in the cold or when the belt has shredded and you need to clean the strands out.

The kit consists of the following components

Here are a couple of pictures of the tool ready for use.

The kit is available for $30. PM me to order and for payment info. Paypal accepted.

The manual is available as a .pdf here.

Thanks for looking.

Do you have to remove the clutch bolt and install bolt "B" in it's place first. Is it just installed when using the tool or does it replace the clutch bolt all together?

This tool looks like it might push more evenly then the ulmer style. The ulmer one does work better than nothing though

You are correct that the stock bolt is replaced by bolt B. The stock bolt is an aluminum alloy but the replacement is a grade 8.8 steel bolt so it can be left in place permanently. Use the same torque specs as the stock bolt.

Because the bolt is the only part replaced, it does not add much to the spinning mass and is evenly balanced.

It does push evenly and is very easy to use for anyone. Once the tool is assembled, you can open the clutch with a few turns of the wrench and it stays open while you remove the old belt.
