Thanks I've moved down south and haven't even started it for two seasons.
Reading your stuff makes me wanna dig it out and go back north asap.
Usually things are a lot cheaper on your side of the pond? Give Erik a call or send him a mail. Guess you can order the part directly from Yamaha too (I...
Ok. I might remember it wrong. The shim is 0,6 mm thicker than original, that's correct but it's not just a shim with two original gasket wrapped around it. And as I remember the original gasket that my friend used was way thicker than 0.18? But it might have been some other shims/gaskets that...
You can't do an accurate test because of the decompression pin (springloaded, until you get rpm). You need to take valve cover of to deactivate it.
I have the art# for the headshim somewhere if you are interested? Otherwise I know that MCX in Sweden have the headshim in stock. Built my own...
You have two oil pressure sensors on the newer motor, one on the older. You'll only need to connect one. Just disconnect the secondary and you'll be fine.
Edit: checked, and it seem as 2012 was the year they got the secondary sensor.

The decompression pins are activated by springs. When the motor is running centrifugal force them back. So yes, they will probably have an impact on a compression test. They have nothing to do with the electronics or hydraulics or oil pressure as in most configurations that has variable valve...
Sounds about right. I was amazed how heavy it is. Felt more heavy duty - more like rubber, thicker too. The stock was more plastic and light.

Interesting! Guess the Nytro 144 skid is closest to the Phazer 144 (didn't see Phazer in the list)? It's not as heavy as I thought. But, on the other hand, the Powerclaw 161" is instead a lot (twice?) as heavy as the original 144".

I have 3" pitch/7 lugs and 162"/2,5" (or was it 3"?) Power Claw. No clearance issues. My skid is about 61" (extended Mtx). Moved back 2" down 1" and has 9,5" wheels.
As I remembered it the Phazer has very wide shims between the mounting points on the tunnel and the front arm. My guess is that...
Go to a dealership and take measures? I'd go for M8. Or some other more lightweight 153". Do a small setback and bigger wheels. Run 162". I can recommend Power Claw.
Skid width ought to be the same? Or an easy peasy fix.
Post pictures!

What [emoji1369]he said. But bigger drivers is a problem on Phazer. At least if you want bigger luggs. The cooler is in the same spot making it pretty tight. I've would go for 162" track, the lightest (budget) skid I could find (The artic tip above is a good choice). Head shim and supercharger...
You are right. But if you are planning a set back there's so much customisation involved already. The work is pretty much the same for changing the skid to whatever.
