    Phazer : Viper

I went from a phazer to a viper and was able to move the handlebars to achieve the same dimensions from bars to running boards. Obviously the viper is more comfortable seat, faster and all around just a lot more sled than the phazer. I was surprised how loud the viper seemed since the exhaust is...

    Accelerometer

Have any of you found a good way to 0_30,0_60 and 0_top speed using a smartphone app. I see some car guys plugging into their obdii and using that in conjunction with phone app to track sel codes as well as performance times/speeds.

Arctic Cat to be acquired by Textron for $247 Million.

Defense is where most of there money comes from. On the upside they have money. On the downside they probably aren't used to fast product cycles and speed of innovation. Cat as a brand needs help and sleds don't matter. It's all about the atvs/sxs simply due to the size of the market.

Arctic Cat to be acquired by Textron for $247 Million.

It's not a hostile takeover, so a direct competitor purchase was likely to have been voted down by the board. Not to mention diversification is the name of the game right now, so why would a competitor want them. Plus, regulatory issues if the feds didn't want less competition.

    Trailer Moisture

A couple of weeks of rain and warmth has left my enclosed trailer full of moisture - my gear is getting wet and walls of trailer too. Other than dragging out a heater or fan what other ways do you guys keep moisture under control? I do use a broom and a track stand to get as much snow off...

Totaled my new STX-146-DX should I sell complete or in pieces

I think you'd get more money parting it yourself, but that takes time. I've heard of people using the motors in some type of race car. If it was me I'd see what one of the vendors here that parts out sleds would give for it, then list it myself for a bit more for a week or two and go from there.

    Lower Michigan snow report

Any of you Michigan guys riding this weekend? I'll be running my blue Viper solo out of Wolverine as of now haven't gotten anyone lined up to join me. Looks like everyone will be groomed or at least panned by then according to the trail reports I read today.

    Rider fatigue

Some of it is going to depend on what hurts and why. My first hand experience is with my 07 phazer and my current ride - 2014 Viper. Arms/shoulders sore from steering - maybe the Apex with electric steering would help. Back sore, probably better on the Viper. Knees sore, probably a toss up but...

Can the Viper be made to run with 800's ?

Depends on what they are running for set up. I ride with a guy that has a 2012 studded cat, 129" or 136" I'm not sure. I showed him my 97mph on my GPS across the lake, he wouldn't show his, but said his cat has never hit 100. I wasn't dialed in, hitting rev limiter on long pulls at that point...

    Ram Rebel

Shagman, hemi vs the ecodiesel which have you liked better and why? Any problem with cold starts in the diesel? What kind of mpg towing and not? All my research says ecodiesel tows better and you can offset some of the cost with the improved mpgs; but my mechanic friends all say ford 5.0 is...

Would you buy the Viper again?

I would buy another one. I would not buy used with what you an get a brand new one for ($8K). However, these motors do take a long time to loosen up so that is 1 potential advantage to buying used, but I would be afraid a used one wasn't broken in the way I prefer. In two seasons and pushing...

    Glasses and Helmet's

No, just standard. my prescription is too strong to go rimless, and rimless are less durable . I also get the bows that can flex out without breaking but I think that is standard now.

    Glasses and Helmet's

Modular for sure. I've had glasses my whole life, and a modular with the correct mask can be fog free. last year I "upgraded" my old helmet to the doo modular with electric. I don't really care for it, but I don't have fogging issues with it. Keep glasses on, then baclava, then slide helmet on...

    Should i be concerned?

Someone else on the forum had this bearing issue, they ended up beeing from a creeper he used in the garage. so check your dollys, creeper or jacks that might have bearings. as far as that suspension piece I'm not sure, maybe a plastic bushing is supposed to hold it tighter. not sure I'd worry...

    Mod sled recommendations

What would your preference be for trail riding a yamaha modified sled? I'm seeing supercharged nytros, turbo apexes, and nypex's reasonably priced now. I'm thinking maybe in two or three years when I planned to replace my 14 viper I'll keep that for rides with my kids, and get a high...
