Going by Hurricane's post IMHO I think Yamaha got a bad batch and just decided to go with it, that's why some 16's are blowing and some not. If they use the hardened chrome molly rods going by Hurricane's post that motor should be fine at 190hp.

Take off clutch side panel. Find the coolant bottle. It is a black box bolted to the side of the bottle, it has all of your Fuses and relays. It's kinda hard to get at with the hood on so its best to take the hood of for easy access. This is what it looks like. I moved myn so I can access it...

I have one and I think its worth it. I think I can have the hood off in about the same amount of time as with the old screws but it is faster because I don't have to look for the screwdriver anymore.

95% false info I would find a new dealer. The 2016 vipers still have the 1049 but it was tweaked a little from the old motor still makes 135 ish hp. But the rods on the 2016 new 1049 engine are weaker and are blowing on some turbos. The 998 triple is for the new yxz side by side they haven't put...
