After just a few hours with my MTX-L AFR gauge, I am now getting an E8 error or E6 Error. Tried to recalibrate it but it gets stuck in "CAL". Called innovate and it they said if I was running AFR 10's or richer the sensor would not last very long before it would fail. No Kidding. No Warranty but he told me that if I could get it in the sweet spot of 11.5 - 12.5 it should last forever. At $84 US a pop, I sure hope the next one last longer than just a few hours run time. Anyone else encounter such bad luck?
Go to Autozone. The Bosch sensor is under $60 and 1 year warranty. #17014 I believe it is the heat that kills them. I got a adapter from Innovate that gets it out of the pipe a good inch and it is still very accurate.

I have only had one sensor fail in the last 4 years I've had one on my Nytro and no issues on my Viper.

The support guy at Innovate was adamant that it was the Rich AFR of 10. I mentioned the adapter and he didn't seem to think it was necessary as long as I could get my numbers between 11.5 and 12.5. It's bad enough having to spend another 100 bucks to replace something that is brand new, not sure I want to spend a extra 100 US (keep in mind we use the Canadian Peso...Lol) on something I might not need.Go to Autozone. Well my first AEM with the old Bosch sensor lasted 2-1/2 seasons with a lot of 110 octane race gas going through it. I bought a whole new one after the #'s stuck at 13.7 and the new AEM uses the new sensor and they are not interchangeable well guess what first ride and 14.7 all day never moves after it goes through diagnostic and several other guys have PM'd me with the same problem.
Not to mention that I have gone through 3 digital boost gauges in that time and the last one was innovative and was like $157 and after Ulmer set it up with his on the dyno mine was reading 14 to 15 #'s on a switch set at 7#'s I put an analog auto meter one in it and it tickles 8#'s on throttle drop and 7 WOT
I just looked I mine on the AEM website and it says 1 year warranty on all of it. I think this new Bosch sensor is the cause!

11.5 to 12.5 are they going to buy you a new motor when it blows up?????? The Viper has to run between 10.5 and 11 to be safe.
I run one on my muscle car and it is just in the header past where the 4 tubes run together and I have that jetted for 10.5 at WOT and that baby makes a lot more heat than this little bottle rocket and runs only 110 race fuel.

Samething for me! Psb-1.
500km afr number were freezing no error code!
Spoke whit felipe great guy ,but dont know NOTHING about snowmobile! I had to do multiple test for wiring ( i had no error code and he tought" noise" was the problem ..... Etc etc
they finnaly gave me RMA number and send them back the gauge and everything, express 75$
They process it fast, sensor was the problem they pass it under warranty ( only 1 they say)
I have wield the bug extension over the one existing on mpi exhaust, innovatte said that is way to closed to the turbo! heat ? Do you guys think mpi gen1 bung was a better place ,before the turbo??
Now i have done 1 oookm since and it seems ok for now! If it bust again i may try the old 4.2 if it is still available....
The sled is so rich when cruising its terrible( even whit the mode5 at #8), it goes always on boost mode even when only detecting #2 pounds of boost at 6000/7000 rpm .
afr high 9 low 10
At wot ok 10,7-11,4. but not realy stable.

GEMS this thing is totally #*$&@ for REAL trail riding

I run or have run a fair amount of race fuel through the sled in the last 4 years also.. The Viper gets a splash of rg every now and then too.
Its still the best gauge in my opinion. Innovate MTX

Felipe was the guy I talked to as well. He told me there was no warranty on the sensor, and that if I got my Afr right it should last forever.Samething for me! Psb-1.

I did notice a "splat" or old fuel/oil on my garage floor that came from the exhaust when I started the Viper after it was sitting for a couple weeks. Not sure why that would happen? The gauge was working before I parked it.

I had the same problem. Welded there 1in long bung into the pipe before the turbo like the gen 1s. Havent had a proble since. First sensor lasted 200miles, this one is at 500 so it must have helped.

Mine is mounted in the long bung on the Viper (1400miles and counting) and in the short on the Nytro(1 replaced in 5 seasons).
