Unfortunately, the bars are there to stiffen a piece of plastic. Now you have a weaker version of a bad design to begin with. If you placed the Roest skid plate side by side with the ultra plate, the term"Tonka Toy" would come to mind. Correction, my comments were directed to the stock skid...

I am brand new to the sport, my 1st sled is an 09 XTX, which I love, just don't have anything to compare it to. I check in on the Nytro forums, which my 09 XTX is in. I am curious by more hp and esp, and since this is an Apex XTX, guess I now have a reason to check in on those forums.

I had mine installed by my dealer, Pro Caliber in Bend, Or. The guys in service were very impressed by it, and were surprised Yamaha hadn't come out with it, themselves. I know you are patent protected, maybe a market there for you.
