M9 skis are finally in!

US Patent is official, Canadian patent remains pending but in process.

Both Ski-Doo and Yamaha have already lost suits for infringement on ski designs. As far as we're concerned, the manufacturers can play knock off all they want. When the day comes that one crosses the line however, we are fortunate to have the resources required to handle things accordingly.

Do you sell many for the Yamaha Vector's?
I am interested in a pair but I HATE paying UPS shipping as their brokerage fees are nothing short of criminal.
Do you ever ship USPS or are there outlets in Canada (Ontario preferably) that I can order from?
Thanks........Irv

Will the skegs from the older ski fit the M9? The bolt pattern looks similar.
yeah they are a different set of carbides. the holes are just a little off or i would have them on already...no such luck though

Danny Alvarino, from Argentina, he told me to mention that, lol, found 10 sets of carbides somewhere on the E. Coast. Danny is the Parts Manager for Pro Caliber Motorsports in Bend, Or. His e-mail is dalvarino@procaliber.com and the # is 541 388-0394. I will be leaving for 8 days starting the 30th, so won't have a chance to evaluate them, but he assures me they will fit.

FYI - for everyone who has called or are waiting on an order - we just got word today that the carbides for the MT9 skis are now in and should be shipping out this week - we should have some early next week and will be calling those that had them on order with us to verify you still need them and will then fill your order. Thanks

My computer is nackered and for some reason PM's can't get sent out, like this one??
I did register to your site last night but I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail?

Man I gotta get a set of those

You might want to save your money. Pokerplayer1 and I have been testing these skis the last 2 rides we have been out. We are comparing them against the OEM Yamaha mountain ski. We have tested them both on groomed trail, set up snow, and deep powder. The test sleds were an 09 XTX and MTX. Testing was done with swaybars in and out, played with limiter straps, and shock settings, and spring preloads. The OEM mountain ski is by far the winner. The problems of the MT9 are as follows.

1. In loose snow and slow speeds the MT9 does not want to turn, it just pushes forward and plows.

2. In deep powder it is very hard to get the sled up on its side to carve, and once it's there it wants to go back down. It turned my MTX into an absolute bear to handle in the deep stuff. The ski IMO is just too large.

3. In wet snow the blow molded plastic did not slide as well. The resistance was noticeable.

4. On the groomed trail it feels good but lacks bite for the corners.

5. The only scenario where it might be superior is in deep powder going straight. Flotation is great then, but everything goes sideways from there if you try and turn or change direction.

It will be be interesting to see what other people think once they have actually tried them, but our conclusion is that they are a waste of time and money.

Three of the reasons why I am on SLP PP:s...

It will be interesting to read more ride reports as people buy and try them out. Are the MT9's coming stock on the new '11 MTX?
